Our dishwasher stopped working, so we called for someone to come take a look at it. Appointment was scheduled promptly, and we were told that the $70 diagnosis fee would be applied to the labour fee if we decided to do the work. Great. Tech came over, disconnected everything, and after about 1 hour told us that we needed a part, and he would call back with the cost of the part and labour. He called back the next day to say that the part was going to be $200 plus tax, not available for 3-4 weeks. When I asked him if our initial $70 would be applied to labour costs, he acted as if he didn't know what I was talking about. After some internet research, we found out the part that we need costs about $100 and is available right away. Not sure if he just didn't want to do the work, or whether they regularly mark up the parts 100%, but we decided to look elsewhere for the repair.
