Our experience with Emerald was a textbook example of how a moving company should behave. After contacting Emerald, we arranged for a free estimate. Following a walkthrough of our old house, we were presented with a comprehensive breakdown of how much our move should cost, and a written guarantee that the final price would be no more than 10% higher than that number. After checking with a few other companies, we found Emerald's estimate to be highly competitive, and felt that they were a reliable and trustworthy operation. Given some of the moving horror stories you hear, that was a primary consideration. On the day of our move, the three workers arrived at our door promptly (actually, about 15 minutes before the nominal 9AM start time) and immediately began working. Even taking the time to wrap every piece of furniture in moving blankets, they had the truck loaded and ready to go by shortly after noon. They even provided my wife with a ride to the new house, as I had gone ahead to accept a delivery from a store. Upon arrival at the new house, our movers worked tirelessly to get everything moved in and set up. Given the large flights of stairs they had to contend with, that was no simple feat! The final price was very close to the estimate. Their tireless and professional efforts throughout the day made our move as stress-free as it could be. I have absolutely no reservations about recommending Emerald Moving & Storage, and would happily use them again.
