Enviro Film installed film on interior of my windows spring 2016. Windows started to crack fall 2016. Requested film be removed and reimbursed $2500 for film Enviro Film agreed to remove film but not reimburse $ 2500. After film removed no more cracked windows. The installation of this film on the interior glass caused windows to crack. When I asked salesperson if installing film on interior would cause windows to crack. He said no. The window company that replaced the cracked windows informed me that this type of film should NEVER be installed on interior because windows would crack. Update April 23, 2018. After having installed Enviro Film on the interior of my windows and having four window glass break, I had to take Enviro Film to Small Claims Court to be reimbursed for the cost of the film I instructed Enviro Film to remove. I have had no window glass breakage since the film was removed. Having won my claim through Small Claims Court against Enviro Film on March 29, 2018, the judge documented that Enviro Film was to pay me on or before April 6. Enviro Film agreed with this date. Unfortunately I only received a cheque from Enviro Film on April 11. I recently contacted the window company that replaced the broken glass on my four windows and was advised that they are still replacing a number of broken glass windows in homes where Enviro Film was installed. Please be aware if dealing with Enviro Film.

Company Response

Joe, Window film offers a wide range of benefits, from reducing the amount of heat passed through, to help reduce cooling costs, to blocking almost all the UV rays that cause fading.
Windows crack, I have seen windows both windows with and without film break. That is why all our window film comes with a warranty against glass breakage. We have a film to glass ratio chart that shows us what type of film can be applied to windows. Your windows passed with the film that was installed. Your broken glass was replace, and you were reimbursed. The film would have also been re installed at no charge to you. There was no reason to have your film removed from the windows as any other breakage of glass would have been replaced and reimbursed. Millions of dollars of window film are installed across North America every year, there would not be such sales if film should not be installed to windows. Kingsbury has come to my house 4 times on a week day and not fixed my ice maker. I have now missed two days of work .Their service desk person agreed to send a service tech a 5th time to arrive at 3 pm. One day before the tech was to arrive I get a phone message that the tech wants to finish early and I have to be at my house at 1 pm instead of 3 pm. This company does NOT provide service on weekends? I am very frustrated that I have to leave work early because the tech wants to finish his day early. Can the company not send another tech who will work the whole day. I tried contacting the Service Manager, Graham Forcer without success. This is NOT a "customer service" oriented company!
