Five stars for sales. Two stars for installation. We were looking for blackout shades for three small windows up a vaulted stairwell. The response to our request for a quote was quick, and the sales person really went out of her way to get measurements in a very tricky and high spot. We ordered three automatic shades (as the area is 24 feet at its highest and manual shades were not an option), and one manual shade for a window below. The shades arrived on time and look great. The installation service left much to be desired. After our blinds were installed, when the remote was being demonstrated to my husband, he noticed that the blinds weren't always responding correctly. He was assured by the installer that it was just the angle as we were at the bottom of the stairwell. He did not go up the stairs and try them again. When the installers were gone we continued to try the blinds and found that blinds 1 and 3 usually worked, but that #2 was very temperamental and had a mind of its own. As well, at that time we realized that the installers hadn't left me any manuals, nor had they explained how to change the batteries in the units. When we called back and requested the manuals the office receptionist was surprised that we had not been given them. We asked for the manuals to be emailed. They never were. We also booked another appointment to have the installers come back to fix the problem with blind #2, which took another week. When the installers came back we were told it was this particular product and that we had to push the buttons a few times to get the blind to work. The fact that the installer knew about the issues with this particular product and the fact that they are still installing blinds with this particular issue is concerning. We were also told that they don't give out the manuals so that we wouldn't play with the codes as it would cost $170 for them to come out and fix it if we did. As we are not children, we found this explanation particularly irritating. It was not until an email to the Budget Blind’s owner was sent that the manual was sent to us. The problem with the blind #2 was never addressed by Budget Blinds in the owners follow up email, and we are stuck having to fuss with it to open and close it. They are probably OK for manual blinds, but we would not recommend their installation for automatic blinds.

Thank you for your honest feedback. The "reluctant" motor was a frustration, but it was our response and actions that you felt the most let down.

When someone takes the time to describe a situation, good or bad, in detail, it makes any subsequent discussion with our staff much more purposeful. I sat down with our installers and discussed this installation in detail so that we can be sure to avoid any such situations in the future.

I am looking to set up an online link to all documentation, warranties, etc so that our customers will easily have all information readily available.

If the second shade is still acting up, I will order a replacement motor and swap it out. At NO charge of course.

We try to be good people and I feel badly that you didn't receive our best.

J&M came out to look at our dishwasher after a previous service company took a deposit for parts and disappeared. They very quickly found the real problem (no parts required) and even guaranteed their work for 30 days. Can't be happier with the service!

These guys showed up, took a deposit and never came back. We left four messages and emailed the invoice to try to track down where our parts were and heard nothing back. Terrible!!!
