To start I want to say I am not one to write reviews, especially of a negative nature. But this company has dealt with me, my family and my home so poorly I would never wish it upon my enemy. We began dealing with this company over a year ago as we had a large 2000 sq foot basement to Reno in a home that we plan on living for many long years to come. As one would expect we had nearly ten different contractors come by. We ended up decided on the final two. One which is this company and another that had a proprietary drywall system that nearly guaranteed a mold free basement as well as used spray foam to insulate. We were assured by finishedbasements that it was not necessary and said it was inferior to their system as the other company's material was made in China. The previous owner of our home had started the basement and thus the majority of the perimeter walls were framed as had insulation. We were assured multiple times that all existing insulation would be pulled down, checked for mold or cracks and then and only then would they frame it with their system on top. As well they said spray foam is not necessary. As a Doctor I have studied the effects of mold on the health of the individuals living there and the many symptoms it causes. Based on what we were promised we decided to give them the contract. In addition In multiple meetings prior to our start date we told multiple members of their team that we wished to use higher end bathroom fixtures in our job and we were not told once when they would be needed. A few days prior to start we were meeting their "designer" and my wife was in a panic regarding having everything they needed. She was assured that she should not worry and we had plenty of time to get what they needed for the job once things started at the house. That very evening we got a text stating we needed our toilet by the next day! This was the first of many poor communications and false promises. The team came in and was in a complete rush to get things done in what ever way suited them and were not told by the salesman or owner what we wanted done. Framing was not done in areas we wanted and extra framing was done over a beam we wanted exposed. Not to mention ductwork that was professional rerouted by a separate company was cut and rerouted where it shouldn't be. The next day we noticed that the insulation had not been taken down and checked. We immediately spoke with the salesman who we dealt with and he assured us it would be handled as we wanted. The owner came by and said to my face he would have his team take down the framing and recheck it and later changed his story and said they did a walk around and checked the foundation which was good enough. Framing was left on top of insulation with visible mouse feces. At that point two days into our job after rushing us constantly about bathroom material not being present (which we were never given prior notice and were told it could wait) we were told they would put the job on hold and move onto another site for approximately 7-10 days until we got our material. My wife and I breathed a sigh of relief as we had already ordered everything and now had the time to get it. We were asked if we could pay the first installment despite framing not being completed. In good faith we did as we wished to show our commitment to them and our trust. Over 10 days later I began messaging the salesman who then kept delaying me until finally I got a call. We can't come back for approximately three months as we are too busy and we could find someone else if we wished is what I was told! I was flabbergasted. With a family wedding and multiple guests arriving in six weeks time I was now left with a complete disaster in my home. I urged him to find a way as it was impossible for us to not have our home ready in time for our guests. I received a call back a few hours later. "Ok we can move it to 9 days from now and will get it done". I asked to meet prior to restart so we don't have any more misunderstandings. I was assured we would meet with them and everything would go smoothly. A day later the salesman confirmed for the next morning 8am. I felt relieved and again gave them the benefit of the doubt. Within the hour I received a phone call from the son of the owner whom I had met for 5 minutes in the showroom and had never dealt with for any part of my work. With complete disregard for our situation he proceeded to rudly state there is no way they will do our job until three months from now. I said I wish to get back funds for what wasn't completed and I will not continue this project with them. He said that would be arranged. I immediately called the salesman and now the tone had changed. I was told the son is the owner and what he says goes, the job has been done and he disputed the work that was done incorrectly in the first place. My only choice was to demand a meeting and a breakdown of charges and a refund of what wasn't done. A few days later I took time out and had the decency to show up in their showroom. The "owner" was no where to be seen. I was given overly inflated charges for labor and I was actually charged 3000 for two clients they had to reschedule earlier to accommodate our schedule change. I would like to know who demands a discount to have their job started earlier than expected. In the end I was told I owed an additional 3000 above the excessive amount I had already paid for incomplete work. This was a complete slap in the face. Since the fact I have shown the state of my basement to two contractors who both agree no where near the amount they claim has been completed based on what I paid them. As a decent human being I can't even continue with more of the negatives of this company because I feel like I'm appearing as a complainer. What goes around comes around. If you wish to hire a company that makes false promises, rushes your work and your requests, cuts corner, disrespects clients after things are not the way they want them this company is for you.

We are truly sorry to hear that your experience with The Finished Basement Crew wasn't positive.
We would like to address the above issues you noted, as it does not fully describe the entirety of the situation.
Prior to the crew arriving on site to begin your project, you were advise to have all specialty items (floating toilets, vanities, shower fixtures etc.) organized as none were "standard." You advised us that you had a contact, and didn't need any outsourcing help. When the project started, and trades had started construction, you advised us that your contact hadn't given you any quotes or pricing info on your desired materials, not to mention delivery dates. Therefore we both agreed to postpone the project for 10 days.
During which we had to move 2 projects and compensate for early start times.
When we discussed returning, materials still had not been outsourced and unfortunately weren't able to continue, as the plumber wasn't able to rough in fittings prior to getting information from you, which was very clearly explained.
Again, 3 projects were pushed ahead of you, and the company unfortunately had to pay storage fees and discounts to clients to encourage earlier start dates to accommodate for pushing your project.
We advised we were unable to accommodate your desired start time, as we were unable to shift anymore projects. We shifted a total of 6 to accommodate for you, and advised we would be able to resume work, but at a later date.
You unfortunately weren't willing to hold off your timeline, which we understood, so referred the project to a trusted contractor.
Again, we apologize for the negative experience you have had, however we feel we were more than accommodating to your needs and timeline changes.
