time to replace the miele with competent appliances built for normal sized people with normal time constraints. wow - it's so annoying to wait for 146 minutes while three items of clothes are washing with german precision! off to sears in cap mall for a new washer and dryer twelve years after purchasing a great set there. sears has great prices and a good selection of appliances. when i arrived i was asked if i would be requiring a steam set. what the heck is that i wondered. after much explanation and a very thorough tour i acquired an education in the latest and greatest washer and dryer information. i needed big machines (so many kids) and came to the quick realization that i could not live without the steam option on both washer and dryer. unfortunately, i needed the machines delivered by week's end and i had a very tight budget. the sales associate went so far out of his way to get me what i needed at a very good price. i ended up with floor models, lightly scratched for about $700. less than ticketed price (the dryer was missing the shoe drying rack - off went another 100!). i LOVE my whirlpool duet. i can put my wrinkly clothes in the dryer on steam touch-up, have a shower and come downstairs to perfectly "ironed" clothes. i have washed my king sized duvet, mountains of towels (teenagers!) and steam cleaned all of our stuffed bunnies for easter. (one of my children has bad dust mite allergies). we no longer have to wait hours for our clothes to come out crushed beyond belief and i am very thankful that sears has once again helped us find a great washer and dryer at a great price when we needed it.

the week after i moved into this house breakdowns began to occur. if it was electric or used water in any way it broke. i have a large family, necessitating "as quick as possible" repair to the fridge and stove (kitchen sink...etc...). ilac sent a very competent repair man shortly after i called. i was desperate and they delivered. too bad GE just doesn't make a good filter system on their fridges. my gas stove works like a charm and the fridge no longer leaks. ilac is a local company that delivers quality workmanship when you need it. the repair man was careful to clean up before he left each time and called me on my cell half an hour before he was about to arrive so that i didn't have to sit around waiting for him.

i had the mis-fortune or incredible blessing (not sure which!!) to have moved three times this past year. each time econo came to my aid and moved our things with care and diligence. nothing was broken, no walls scratched. they even brought in a very clunker old piano without complaint - i think this must be the worst job for any mover. i have also used their storage facilities for the last few years. our locker was dry and clean and always easily accessible. this is a family owned business, the owners are always there to assist and have worked hard to accommodate some of my very tight timelines and difficult situations (DIVORCE!).

katherine was recommended to me by a friend to stage my house for sale. she was endlessly accommodating as the job was very difficult. i had not lived in the house for over a year and the interior was an absolute disaster. i had a very tight timeline and she was more than able to work around my schedule. she was very good with the people that were on the sight, working easily with different parties. on the day of my "agents open" the house looked absolutely incredible. katherine was able to look through the mess and fine every possible way to make my house shine. the house sold for above asking in just one day. i was thrilled with her contribution to our very quick sale - a really great outcome for everyone involved.
