I hired Mountain West to clean my roof and gutters; I have a lot of tall trees which drop a lot of bio mass on my roof and moss is a problem. I had them come when I was out of the province on business, they sent before/after pictures which was great; paid them through e-transfer. After returning home, I noticed that there were some spots that looked like they were missed as there was still some moss under the shingles. I emailed Jeff (on the Sunday of a 3-day weekend) and he replied quickly and arranged to come over on Tuesday. We went up on the roof and he agreed that they needed to do better. Jeff and another team member came back in a couple of days and redid the problem areas. I am impressed with their service, especially since we had an issue and they responded immediately and made sure I was satisfied (this is the mark of superior customer service). I was impressed enough that I have asked for a quote from them to replace my roof.

I had a quote from General Concrete for several concrete jobs at my home (replace a stairway, replace retaining walls, build a parking pad). I initially hired another company as General Concrete was booked up for a couple of months. Unfortunately the company I hired did poor work and tried to over bill (by about 300%!). I fired the initial company and called General to see if they could finish the job. Dan and Nate were great to work with, they finished the job I needed done quickly and efficiently and even fixed some of the shoddy work from the previous company. The job was done fast, the results are high quality, look great and everything is solid. I would have no issues hiring General Concrete and highly recommend them, they are true professionals. I had several recommendations for home inspectors and got quotes from 3-4. Paul's rates were very reasonable given the scope of work and included IR screening of the home for any areas of heat loss. Paul did a very thorough inspection of the house and property, he was on the roof, in the yard, in the attic, tested all the appliances, checked plugs, wiring, plumbing, foundation, etc., etc. He took pictures of everything with his iPad and sent me a FULL electronic report within 2 hours! The report was complete with pictures, comments, deficiencies, recommendations, anything serious was highlighted while others were just noted or recommended. Before leaving the property, Paul took the time to go over all his findings with me and discuss what was good and what needed to be done and pointed out some really nice positives in the property. Included with his inspection is a free "home care guide" binder for general home care and maintenance. I was super happy with his work and have recommended him to friends.
