I tried to contact a number of painters for this project but had difficulty getting a response.I must assume it was a very busy period. I spoke with Sokol and arranged an appointment. He did not arrive at what I had recorded as the scheduled time but did show up at my door over a week later, which he had recorded as the date. He quoted the job. As I could not get a response from anyone else we went ahead. They were timely, worked thoroughly and quietly throughout the three days that were scheduled, completing the job on time. I was concerned, when at the start of the walk through, Sokol stated that I should remember that no job is perfect. I thought this was a very odd position to be taken by a professional. On quick inspection the job looks very good. He did a very nice job of repairing flaws and nail pops and reaching very hard to get at areas. The over all application of the treatments are smooth and even through out. However, there are a number of places where paint has been dropped on to the baseboard, the tile floor, and even on newly installed carpet. In some places the paint is very thin and the old paint shows through while in others the new paint has strokes onto adjacent surfaces that were not being painted. And simple attention to detail - electrical wall plates had all the correct number and colour of screws before they started, but now but now several are missing and are mis-matched. This is the first company that we have chosen through Homestars with which we have been disappointed.

We needed to replace the wall to wall carpeting on our curved staircase and upper hallway in a short period of time due to the our need for a power stairlift to be installed. There was also one bedroom that could be done at the same time. Mark came and quoted the job in short order and made recommendations for the materials that would be appropriate. A crew arrived very soon and did a neat, clean and very professional job. The fellow measuring for the stairlift commented on what a great job the carpet was, especially on the stairs and around the spindles on the banister. I am very pleased with the work.

After more than 30 years our house required some tuck point work in a number of locations close to the ground. A & A inspected the site and also found a crack in the brick work that would over time become significant (we verified this independently). The work required a vertical row of bricks to be replaced. The work was very neatly done and it is impossible to tell where the new bricks are in the wall. A few weeks later we noticed some further need for tuck pointing. The crew returned and did the work for no charge. We waited over two winters to write this review. The work is a neat today as the day it was completed. Highly recommend this company.

After 36 years in our home a number of small electrical jobs had piled up and we also anticipated some major renovations. Tony came out to review our situation and suggested how we could approach the current items while preparing for the pending projects. Pricing was good, permits were obtained quickly and the job was scheduled as soon as it fit our needs. Joe and Mario arrived on time and worked professionally and personably. A small additional job we had added on at the last minute was completed for no additional charge. We will be using Solutions again for future projects.
