My old bathroom was tiny and still had the original cast iron tub from 1919 when the house was built. We expanded the bathroom into a closet next door to create an shower/tub niche. This freed up space for a decent sized vanity and new washlet. The walls were taken down to the studs, much needed insulation was installed, and the room was finished with new tiles, taps and tub. I could not be happier with the results. Adam did a terrific job and was amazing. The work site was always cleaned, he was fastidious about details, had a good eye for what looks good, and was just the nicest guy to have work in my home. This is the second Reno that Oborne has done for me, and though he was more expensive than others, it was worth every penny. Even my neighbours were impressed with how clean he kept the job site. Thanks you John and Adam!

I booked a repair for my gate. I asked repeatedly via E-mail for the cost, received no response. I asked the repair person what it would cost, he could not say. The repair took 2 hours. They charged me almost $400! I complained, and they adjusted the bill to $250 (plus tax), which still is $125.00 per hour. I would not have used them if I knew they charge such rates! Be warned.

The following is the the initial inquiry:

"Hi,

In 2011 I purchased railings and a gate from you (which I love!). I recently had my siding re-done on my house. When they did this, they added insulation of about 1 inch, so now the gate no longer closes. Could I hire you to fix this? Perhaps when you are next in the area, someone could have a look at it. I suspect that all that needs to change is to have the latch on the gate re-positioned. I would also ask when you are here about whether you can fix my window grate (or replace it) at the same time, since it no longer fits either. I also want to ask about touch up paint, because some of the finish has come off. I will be home on Wed. from 3:30 - 7:00 if that is a good time to come by, or else call me to arrange another time."

First id like to say that we are thrilled that you are happy with our railings and gate! Maybe you could leave us a proper review about the product and service that you received back in 2011.

Anyway, putting the arguments aside here is "googled" information about local licensed mobile welding costs:

$150.00 Fee to come out
$75.00/hour service cost

Please note that this is for welding only, without having any knowledge or materials for the actual gate repair itself...
Cold galvanizing application
Primer and paint touch ups
No warranty as well...

I'm sorry that you do not understand the pricing factor, but i'd like to understand why you have given us a 2 star rating for the service. As far as i know the gate now operates and is installed properly. We actually had to shorten it to make it fit again. The debris was cleaned and overall the repair was done in a good and professional manner.

Thank you and have a great day!
