We purchased a century old but solid house in a prime neighbourhood. We decide to undergo a full renovation instead of demolishing it. Prior to engaging an architect, we knew exactly what we wanted for our house. So it is important to work with the right architect who not only can take and expand ideas, but also take them to the next level. We believe that client-architect partnership is essential. We interviewed several architects and selected Ali from Urbanscape group, because we felt he had the strongest vision and liked his previous works. After working with Ali, we appreciate him better. Ali has strong design sense and he is not one dimensional. He was able to juxtapose traditional character of the 100 year-old house with more contemporary elements. He has good sense for balance and space usage. He listens well and does not impose his design on us, rather he provides us with options to consider. We are very pleased with this partnership and are thrilled with his design. We know our house will be special.
