I signed up with finishedbasement.ca due in part to their high Homestars rating. Now that the project is finished, I wanted to write this review as a way of saying thank you to them for doing such an amazing job. The sales process was very well organized and the contract was completely transparent and easy to read - I understood how they got to their final number and what was included in the price. They started the job on time and were able to finish it up on the date they promised, even though there were some upgrades that I asked for along the way. Their build process is extremely organized and I appreciated the fact that there were no sub-contractors involved - all trades people were employees which takes a lot of the risk out of this kind of project. The quality of work was also outstanding. They used the highest grade materials and the installation teams were all experienced tradesmen who knew their craft well. During final walk-through I was unable to find a single item that needed correcting, which is very unusual for a project of this scope. What also differentiated them from the others was that they offered no-charge design advice too. Igor, the company's owner, was personally involved in colour and material selections along the way, and offered useful advice on how to keep the style consistent. We are very happy with the look we were able to achieve. The whole process took a little over 2 weeks, from empty shell to finished space. Everything ran like clockwork throughout the installation and the entire team worked non-stop to make sure we were happy. It was not unusual for the team to work well into the night to make sure the schedule was not compromised. And they always made sure to clean up after themselves each day, even if that meant staying a little later than expected. That's dedication! Finally, on price, there were no surprises. They are not the cheapest solution out there but they are also not the most expensive. To me, cheap means headaches and that was the last thing I wanted to deal with on this project. However, the price they quoted at the beginning was the price I paid. There were no gray areas, unpleasant negotiations or surprises once the job was done. Overall, I am extremely happy that I was able to find finishedbasement.ca and would highly recommend them to friends and family. They will go out of their way to make sure that you are 100% satisfied with your project. Top marks!
