The technician showed up promptly to my home to inspect a non-functioning dual fuel (electric and gas) Kitchenaid range. This is an expensive ($11,000 new) unit that stopped working after a self-clean cycle. The technician reported that it needed a new control board which would take 3-5 days to acquire. I paid extra to expedite the order and yet the technician only showed up on the 11th day after his initial visit. At this point, I was out of town, but my tenant agreed to help. She reported to me that the technician was using brute force with a hammer to access the delicate control board area which has sensitive circuitry and gas lines. The technician left the house without demonstrating that he had fixed the oven and proceeded to invoice me for the repair job, in fact threatening to take me to collections if I didn't pay. The conversations back and forth are too long to put here, but I refused to have them come back into my home and hired a large reputable contractor who, after inspecting the work of Appliance Canada Professional, had to 'Red Tag' my oven as there was imminent danger of a gas explosion. I had to have both the gas and electricity shut off. When I contacted Appliance Canada Professional, they refused to provide their TSSA license number to me and refused to agree to have the range repaired by a licensed Kitchenaid technician. At this point, I am taking them to Small Claims Court. Any other dissatisfied customers are welcome to contact me at darryl.reiter@gmail.com and I will help file your claim. This company may put your family at risk with shoddy work.
