The furnace stopped working. It was -12C. outside. I knew it was an igniter problem because the fan still worked. I live in Hawkwood and it was a phone in at 5:30 PM. I phoned an old number of a reputable furnace repair person. Unfortunately it is now Glenmore Mechanical. The repair person, Robin, came at the time I was told he would be there 7:30 PM. He broke the first igniter and had to come back the next day where he broke a second igniter and finally got a third one working. Robin then charged me for the three igniters and two visits even though he was the the person who could not get the igniter installed. What should have been a $150 to $300 job was $498.75.

The house is 30 years old and was built during a boom period, meaning short cuts were taken. Sokol checked the plywood was well screwed down and rebuilt a wood burning chimney housing, when he found problems.

My wife's parents are in wheel chairs. We needed a sidewalk from the front to the back up a slope accessible to wheel chairs. Johnathan and crew built the sidewalk and went to extra pains. He make sure the sidewalk ramped up to the back deck and the slope throughout was wheel chair accessible. Lawns Etc price was also the lowest of all four contractors who gave me an estimate.
