We started this project which lasted over six months. Unfortunately, our vision did not align, and we decided not to move forward with the project. A hard, and one of the most expensive lesson learned.

Approximate cost of services:
$30,000.00

Company Response

At Sealy Design we welcome constructive feedback. At the end of every job we meet with our clients, trades and team to review the project for continual improvement. We are in the business of making lives better… more functional and more beautiful, and we take this seriously.

Our process is transparent. Every 2 weeks, we write a list of all tasks and assign the time/cost required (“Next Steps”) and BEFORE any work the client must approve. Once these tasks are delivered to their satisfaction, we request payment for the exact amount quoted. A client can call off the project at any time… even in the middle of a set of Next Steps. If clients aren’t happy with the progress or direction of course they wouldn’t continue.

Toni’s job was about 6 months. We have glowing emails from her about how much she loved everything that if I could paste here I would. She, like all rational people, would never have continued approving Next Steps if she wasn’t happy. If any potential client is reading this and concern (I wouldn’t blame you) I would welcome the opportunity to provide evidence of her enthusiasm to continue and her approval throughout.

After reading this we were disheartened. I reached out and asked why she would say such hurtful, untrue things. I asked if she could take it down considered it was simply not even close to the truth. She declined. Toni’s project was done except for the final approval to order. We had completed an entire house measure; drafting of existing, proposed plans and elevations; sourcing; finishes meetings; a spreadsheet with pricing…. At the final meeting her husband tried to convince her to pull the trigger and spend money. He was ready and excited (yes he was getting a new custom office) and she couldn’t seem to make a decision or feel comfortable spending any money. We even asked if she wanted to reduce the scope and just get one small area done to bite size all this change. The only true thing about Tonis’s review is I did call and ask if we could please order the furniture for her. I told her I would even try to lump it with another order to see if I could get a better price for her. It was so unfortunate that together we had created this beautiful design that she loved and she was moments away from it being realized in her home and she never got to enjoy it. Some people just can’t make decisions or accept change even when it’s for the best. I truly wish that hadn’t been the case and Toni and Jack could have had the beautiful new design they had helped curate.
