Atair come to assess the element on an electric range. When he came, the element decided to work perfectly so no work was done. However, while he was here, he trouble shot the most likely reason that an intermittent issue would occur, called for a part quote while I waited and extended me a 12 month agreement that if it gives us any more trouble he will build the service call fee from today into the labour cost in the future should we choose to go forward with it. It was a creative and fair way to approach a funny situation. Having previously been ripped off by another appliance repair company (Appliance Repair Guys) it was great to be dealt with fairly.

I had the guys come and install an HD antenna on my flat roof in the west end of Toronto a few days ago. It worked as advertised with 31 channels coming through most of the time and unlike cable it is a one time fee. In retrospect, I should have asked them to take a camera photo of the installed antenna to demonstrate the sealing technique on the roof at the completion of the installation since it is a high roof that I don't expect to be on top of any time soon. The service was efficient with minimal mess. I think everyone should get themselves one so long as their site lines are good. It will pay for itself many times over in place of basic cable within a year.

$280 labour for a 40 minute service is obscene. They will not respond to calls after the fact, but the technician was well aware of the simplicity of the repair and based on the desperation of a new mother with an oven that won't heat he gouged as deeply as he could. Their company would not after the fact respond to any questioning of the fees suggesting that it has nothing to do with time, but instead with the "expertise and training" of their technicians. I suggest as soon as they can come back to me prepared to perform brain surgery that their fees will start to sound about right. FOR SHAME!!!!
