My family owns a vintage Black Forest cuckoo clock, an old favorite heirloom that hasn't worked right for a long time, and we have been meaning for ages to get it fixed. We tried to work with other local repair services which we found unsatisfactory, either because the repair never seemed to actually happen, or the estimate for repair seemed unreasonable. When we reneged last time, the person who gave us a steep estimate apparently removed key parts, leaving us in more of a bind. I found a business card for "London Chimes" Clock Repair & Service, and so decided to give it a try. Technician 'Dwane' returned my call quickly, and we made arrangements for him to inspect the clock. He quickly spotted the fact that parts were missing, took the clock to his shop, and phoned back a few days later with a list of things that needed to be done and a competitive cost estimate. He agreed to keep the clock in his shop for an additional week to make sure that it was running properly and accurately, and then brought the clock back to my home the following week. Dwane provided an interesting and detailed explanation of the work, including photos and interesting details about the history of the clock. He knows his clocks! Originally, he offered to do a complete recondition, with all-new bushings, movement and other parts, but since this is not a particularly high-end clock, he agreed to perform just the tasks that would get it running well again, and so I was happy to pay him for this work. Dwane is knowledgeable, conscientious, easy to understand, handles the item with care, and went to the extra trouble of bringing some digital photos to show what he did inside the clock and explain why it was important. He services grandfather clocks, mantel clocks, cuckoos and other antique clocks. I would not hesitate to recommend him, and will definitely follow up with him again when my antique grandfather clock needs attention. Thanks, Dwane!

Top notch. My lawnmower was troubleshooted quickly, the parts were on hand, the repairs were made, I was charged a very reasonable fee, and went on my way. I'm very happy and would not hesitate to recommend these guys. They know their stuff, they're local, and they do a good job.

The leather on the back of our recliner needed restoration. Randy and Tim showed up and went straight to work. They did an incredible job of matching the color and spraying and blending affected parts manually. The job was finished in about 45 minutes, and my chair looks like it just came out of the showroom. These guys are artists. They know their stuff. Very happy with their work.

Our water heater died and hot water pipe sprang a leak inside the wall over the Easter weekend. The previous tank installer had his name and phone number on the side of the tank, but when I phoned him he said his truck was out of order for the holiday weekend (convenient), so asked his opinion about Island Plumbing, as this company appeared on a list online of authorized repair vendors for my brand of hot water tank, and he approved. "Roland" of Island Plumbing arrived within a couple hours of my initial phone call and went straight to work. He is a rough and ready type of guy, all business, and had the tank finished in less than an hour. We thought that would be the end of our problem, but the hissing sound that originally alerted us started again when the water was turned back on, so we had to call him back the next day after we identified a leak inside the wall. Roland fixed that too. I must say that he knows his stuff and gets it done and is dependable. Hope that helps.

I left a message mid-morning to request a look at the agitator in my 20 year old washing machine. The technician returned my call at 12:30, arrived at 1:00 and was finished and gone in 10 minutes. He knew what my problem was from the description I left on his machine, so he already had the right part in hand, went straight to work and shared valuable information about my washer and dryer while he worked. He saved me a bundle! (I feared having to replace the unit, but he says it's good for another 20 years.) I would definitely recommend this gentleman to other folks on the Saanich Peninsula. He knows his stuff. Regards
