My Zancor home is defective and has a major leak from the roof. It has caused major damage to our home and Zancor refuses to correctly fix it each they try as they don't want to spend any money. Don't buy a Zancor home it will be the worse experience of your life. Fab doesn't even care enough to meet to discuss the issues and his staff come up with every excuse possible as to why they don't need to correct this deficiency in the house and don't even address it with us. They built a home with a major issue, beware and stay way from this builder.

Company Response

Good Afternoon Kevin,

My name is Domenic DiGenova and I am the Operations Manager at Zancor Homes I can be reached at 905-738-7010. Please contact me to set up an appointment as i would personally like to meet with you to review your roofing concerns. As a builder we do take pride in our product and also ensure our warranty / service exceeds industry standards. A roof leak is a very concerning problem no doubt but there are situations in which a builder has no control. This has been the worst winters on record with respect to warm/cold days as well as record snowfalls. Ice daming has been more evident across the GTA and surrounding areas in 2013/2014 than any other year. Just like a car requires a maintenance schedule to run properly and prevent damage a home requires general maintenance as well and when a homeowner notices substantial snow and ice build up on their roofs, they should deal with it accordingly. I fully understand that this may be a tough concept to accept being a brand new home but ice/snow build up has to be removed. When water cannot drain off a roof because of gutters blocked with ice and the edge of the roof blocked by ice dams water will always follow a path of least resistance, in this case under the shingles and into a dwelling. Again I am not even suggesting your home has been a result of ice daming because i havent seen it yet but I have viewed some homes and confirmed that in fact the leaks were caused by ice dams and once the purchasers were explained the hows and whys they were quite understanding and some hired a contractor to remove the snow and ice and there were no more leaks from that point. Lets see where we stand on your home and Zancor Homes will assist you any way we can. I also assure you that if there is a problem with the construction of your home we will deal with it.
