2/10

Installation took 2 days as more than 30' of gas line had to be upgraded from ½" to ¾" and the first few holes drilled through the joists were a mess - ended up doing the remainder myself before he came back the second day. Installed the unit on a piece of plywood (my walls are tiled) - which looks awful - and when I asked why, was told "that's how we do it". The line from which the condensate drains is supposed to slope downwards but was not properly installed so after 17 months my unit is toast and needs to be replaced. Final straw is the H2Flow scale shield, which cost $575 and needs the cartridge replaced every two years - at a cost of $360 per cartridge; I was told they were about $100. If they were to offer their services free of charge I would go elsewhere and choose to pay.

Approximate cost of services:
$3,800.00
What could this company do to improve their services?
Have someone come out to inspect the installer's work and follow-up with the homeowner to make sure that everything is satisfactory.
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
In addition to a price quote, get a time estimation and outline of the work that will need to be done in order to install a new piece of equipment.
