My wife and I got our sectional leather sofa from la vie in Vaughan 1 year 6 months ago and the leather is already cracking everywhere. In one section of our sofa, chunk of the leather has already torn off. We do not have kids or a pet in the household, so we do not have pets scratching the leather or kids jumping on the sofa to cause these issues. We condition and clean our sofa regularly, so we cannot comprehend why this is happening other than the fact that the quality of the leather is poor. The sales reps reassured us that they only use quality leather, however this is not the case. I have never written a review about products in the past, but I felt the need to advise the consumers since a key furniture like a sofa is essential in a household. Customer service was professional and prompt, however the product (sofa) is below standard. On a brighter note, the coffee table we purchased along with the sofa is great. My review is not to attack anyone at the store as all the employees at la vie do well in their roles, but this is just a honest opinion for future consumers.

Approximate cost of services:
$2,100.00

Company Response

This is Jason from La Vie Vaughan store. Thanks for your review and I checked the record and I never got a complaint from you in the store so I can't really get more info about your order. But anyway we sell two kinds of leather couches: one is Genuine Leather and another one is Bonded Leather. If you order a bonded leather one, then you should remember when you order the couch, our sales people should warn you that humidity plays a very important role for the couch usage. If your room is very dry or at extreme heated condition, it will have very high chance to cause issues to the bonded leather. Real leather won't be impacted so I will suggest next time you should order a Genuine Leather one which is more expensive but can last longer if you do it right. Please feel free to contact me and I will send technician to find out the cause and remedy.
