Shade producing arbour on deck
Terry was referred by a friend. He came to do some minor work at the farm, and I told him my South-facing deck was just too hot to use in the summer. It has a beautiful unobstructed view of Mount Cheam but the deck is just too hot to use, and umbrellas are wasted in Agassiz Winds. I wanted a permanent sturdy structure that would also accommodate my hammock, in case I had any time for relaxation. We also had to account for the angle and height of the sun at this latitude on the longest summer day. He drew up plans which I approved, and with an assistant carpenter and a LOT of lumber, built my arbor in one very long day. Clean up was excellent. I called Terry several times to tell him just how much I appreciate my structure. It's perfect. My mother loves it when she comes to visit, and we can spend the hot days of summer outside where we should be. No umbrellas, and Bar B Ques are a treat. This has been worth every penny spent.
