Many things were good, and Ill get to that, but I expect that from professionals. I CANT DESCRIBE HOW ANNOYED I WAS TO BE TOLD THAT THERE WAS TO BE A $15 FUEL SURCHARGE. Gas is $1.35/litre.big dealand its one of the costs of doing business. Chiseling an extra $15 is such a dodgy move. On the plus sidetheir communication was good, they were on-time, the electrician, Miro, is a great young guy whos polite and knows his stuff. He solved the problem within the hour, and he seems like a solid employee. LOSE THE GAS SUR-CHARGE.very annoying.

Rafal at BLUEMAX is one of those guys that shows up on time, and does a great job for a fair price. He's worked on our furnace in the past, and just installed a humidifier recently. He's one of only a few trades I've ever dealt with where I felt I was being dealt with completely honestly. Not surprised to see his high review scores.

Lion Electric was the best trade we had during our six month renovation. Hubert and Justin showed up on time, worked full days, did a great job...more than initially asked...then charged exactly what they said they would. Highly recommend.

Our kids arrived home from school to locked doors, the spare key not in its proper place, and the temperature at -14 deg C. They called me, I called Pop-A-Lock....and Tyler from Pop-A-Lock arrived at my house within 20 minutes. Not only did he get my kids in the house, but he fixed a long-standing problem with the dead-bolt, on our front door, for no extra charge.

My contractor ordered from X-pert Railings, against my direction, and it was a pretty basic order...a straight set of stairs with basic railings at the top. For $14,000 I would have liked it if they could have painted the spindles for me....or stained the wood. I think most reasonable people would assume that when you spend $14,000 on stairs, that I would n't have a guy drop off in my garage 100 spindles, to be painted by me, one week before installation. Poor execution on their part.

Rafal at Bluemax is great, and Ill recommend him to anybody. I called Bluemax at 7:00am, with a 10 deg C house, assuming I would wake him up. He was already working at another customer's house, but was at my place by 7:40. Another (much larger, well-known) company had quoted me $1,300 last year, when we had minor issues, but we held out until the furnace completely quit....(bummer that it happened on a -18 deg night.) Rafal knows his stuff, explained the problem, and had us up and running for about half the cost. Great work and nice guy.
