Edit: Since this review has gone up, they have had their lawyer send a cease & desist letter threatening legal action if I don't remove reviews from review sites. This sort of tactic might play into what you see (or don't see) from other reviews. <tldr>MD Drywall is very unprofessional and does bad work</tldr> I hired MD Drywall to board, mud, tape & sand my house. Unfortunately his boarders were completely unprofessional and unskilled. They overdrove at least 1/3 of the screws and didn't use glue as was specified in the contract. When, after the first day of boarding, I brought these problems to the owner's attention, his response was that he didn't believe me, because he'd been working with them for so long. When he came to look at what they'd done, he was still unwilling to admit they made mistakes and took shortcuts, simply stating they'd fix it. He also said he'd talk to the boarders to ensure that glue would be used and screws set to the proper depth. Well, no more glue was used, and screws were still all over driven. By not using glue to board they put MD Drywall in breach of contract as it was specifically written in that they would use glue. He didn't care. His boarders showed up at random times, not when I was told they'd be there, and even just decided to not show up one day, without letting MD Drywall, or me, know. They took drinks from my closed-off shelves (taking without permission), knocked a computer over and denied it (dishonesty), broke one of my tools, damaged a window, covered over EVERY plumbing cleanout, and the list goes on and on. When I got him to come look at the other problems after the first day, including the damaged window and broken tool, his response was to get defensive and say he doesn't believe me. Eventually he ended up yelling at me despite the bad work his crew had done. Instead of owning these mistakes, replacing my broken tool, repairing my window, he just straight-up ghosted. And really, I'm glad, because if this is how he reacts when his crew does obviously wrong things and puts him in breach of contract, then how would it have gone at the end if they'd done bad mud/tape job? Probably really not well. Photos to come later.

This is a review of Maxime's supreme lack of professionalism and inability to manage deliveries. Tried hiring MKZ to do drywall in my house, he subbed out vapour barrier and spray foam, and those subs were great. I'll review them separately. Unfortunately, when it came to him and his crew doing any actual work, Maxime was far from professional. From stopping in-person conversations at my house to deal with his own personal side projects on the phone, to belittling my own career, to demanding a ridiculous amount of cleaning and material moving, and pressure "you have to book now" sales tactics, it was not a good process. When he couldn't get ideal perfect parking to unload material he decided to walk away. He had 30 feet of clear parking space, and somehow couldn't figure out how to make it work. To top it all off, he buys good reviews. In his estimate/invoice directly: "*** A $50.00 discount is offered when a review is completed on GOOGLE or HOMESTARS. Please ask us for more info! ***" so, take all those high stars with a big grain of salt.

To start with the windows were measured incorrectly by the installer and we ended up with a 1"+ gap at the bottom of our main front window that they filled with wood. When they went to install our new window (not in an existing location) they were going to install it without reading the work sheet information; basically the installer was going to put it off centre and 12" too low. If I wasn't there to babysit the work it would have been a much larger problem. The biggest problem with them has been this: because of damage during installation we didn't sign off on the job being completed. We were told we would be contacted shortly by the sales rep and the installers left. A week goes by, we hear nothing. I check my statement and they took payment off my credit card. This was without authorization, no signatures, and with my very clear instructions that the work was not yet finished. So we didn't give up on them yet, we called in to the sales rep and explained the situation, followed his directions and submitted a service ticket, and two weeks later still nothing. Now I'm in the process of filing an unauthorized charge with my credit card because, well, I DIDN'T AUTHORIZE PAYMENT. And to top it off, meridian sends out a flyer after their work is done offering 20$ payment to me the customer if I fill out a 10 star rating on homestars.com. So anyone reading 10 stars from meridian, be warned, those stars have been bought.
