I had Design Turf install a putting green in August of 2012. Initially they were terrific the installers showed up on time and were very friendly and worked hard. After the installation was complete my son and I immediately went out to practice our putts. The slope was so bad that no matter how soft we putt the ball it would not hold the green. I asked that they come back to correct the issue, I was promised a return call. No one came by that fall despite several emails and phone calls. I was told they were very busy but someone would come by but did not get a date. In spring of 2013 I began calling and e-mailing again, finally in September Jerome came by to evaluate the situation. It's now November and I have not heard from him. I would recommend that you don't pay these people until you have tested your purchase.

Company Response

Yes we did visit and look at the golf green over 5 weeks ago and unfortunately you were not at home. I very clearly remember our initial discussions about the placement of the green in your yard and it was our strong recommendation as it is for all of our installations to start with a flat and level surface. From there we typically put in some undulations and or break. We have been installing golf greens now for over 15 years and can assure you for all certainty that we have not installed any other golf green in such a manner but we obliged in this instance at your insistence of the site location of green. We suggested that we could tier the green but at the end of the day this area was so sloped that you would not get the typical use that one normally would. The corrective procedures after the full installation is complete is nothing short of onerous. We would need to remove the green surface completely and if Dan is still sold on the heavily sloped part of the yard there would be no alternative but to incorporate retaining walls to hold in place the necessary amount of aggregates. This of course would be a costly endeavor but we would be pleased to provide a free estimate should Dan contemplate the same. Dan let us know and it would be something we could get complete before the full onslaught of winter.
