It was such a pleasure having Derek take care of the concrete and interlock around our home. From the start, he was very responsive and clear about the cost and timeline. You can see he cares about doing things right. We are so pleased with the service Derek provided as well as the quality of work. He cleaned, re-sanded, and sealed my interlock pavers in my backyard, as well as cleaned and sealed two areas of patterned concrete. Derek took care to make sure no sealant went onto our deck, and used quality products. Delighted to recommend PowerSeal to anyone. A high quality job from a really nice man.

We selected Ware-With-All Contracting for our exterior project after seeing the work they did on our neighbour's backyard. Are we ever glad we did! Brad and his team transformed our backyard from an out of control jungle to a calm, beautiful retreat. The work included two new patio sections, a new deck, new landscaping and the laying of new sod. It truly looks like a completely different backyard, and we are enjoying it tremendously. We received quotes from several different companies, and Brad's pricing was competitive. The work was completed quickly and efficiently, and the end product is exactly what we had envisioned. Thanks Brad for giving us our dream backyard! We contacted Dream Home Creations (DHC) based on the recommendation of one of our neighbours, whose home they had renovated the previous year. Sure enough, they did not disappoint. They completed several projects in our home, including the renovation of three bathrooms, the laundry room, the cold room, new interior doors on the main floor and some repair work in the basement. Bailey also furnished my living room, which up to that point was pretty much a blank slate. Bailey has excellent taste, and knows how to make the best use of a space. She does not push any one style on her clients, but instead works with them to find out what they like and makes recommendations they may not have considered. She also helps to work within a budget and provides a variety of choices within the range of the budget, ultimately allowing her clients to choose from among her recommendations. Our project was time consuming, but DHC always kept in contact. They also helped us out with some minor work around the house that other contractors may have balked at, which we truly appreciated. It gave us confidence to know that these tasks were being completed by someone we trusted. DHC keeps up to date regarding changes to building codes, and were able to rectify many 'not to code' situations in our home. Bailey, Scott and Vincent are not only genuinely nice people, they stand by their workmanship and their work is impeccable. Our master bathroom project stands out among all the work DHC completed. The tilework is gorgeous and the room has been transformed from an out of date bathroom with a ton of wasted space to a spa like retreat with a fantastic amount of storage and just the right amount of sparkle. I would not hesitate to recommend Dream Home Creations. They are our go to company for any future projects.

We used The Home Check to complete a home inspection for a home we were considering purchasing. The report featured a section on plumbing, which didn't highlight the following two problems. First, under the sink in the kitchen, one of the black pipes is an open vent, which could allow sewer gas to escape into the home. Certainly not desirable, especially in a kitchen. The second is another open vent in the pipe leading to the sink drain in a bathroom basement. The opening in the pipe is in the furnace room directly behind the bathroom, and is being used to drain the humidifier and air conditioner. The only mention of this was: Condition: Condensate line - poorly routed to drain Location: Furnace Room Task: Correct Time: Less than 1 year Cost: Minor As the basement is finished and the drain that the condensate should run into is located in a separate room from the furnace room, fixing this is in no way a "minor" cost. Fixing it will involve either redoing this portion of the basement or trenching into the furnace room to create a proper drain there. If this wasn't enough, we have been advised by several other companies, including a general contractor, a plumbing specialist and an HVAC expert that this opening in the drain is more than likely the source of the terrible stench we have had in both the basement and the main floor powder room since we moved in. I understand home inspection companies are not able to identify all potential problems with a home, however, any reasonable person would expect that a reputable inspection company would have identified this code violation and noted that the cost to repair it could be significant. If you're looking for a home inspection I would advise you not to use this company.

We contacted Perfect Painter based on the reviews on HomeStars and we were not disappointed. Our timeline was very short as we wanted all of the work completed before we moved into our recently purchased re-sale home. To our surprise and delight, Joe was able to get us scheduled and have Britney, the colour consultant, out to our place right away to assist us in selecting our colours. I highly recommend using the colour consultation service, as it made our paint selection so much easier and we are very pleased with the results. The entire inside of the house was painted, including ceilings but excluding doors and trim. The workmanship was excellent, and wherever we noted concerns, they were addressed in a satisfactory manner. The electrician installed numerous light fixtures and swapped out all of the existing light switches and outlets. He also advised us of potential issues that had not been identified in our home inspection, such as incorrect wiring in our basement and the use of a power cord for the bathroom ceiling fan, a potential fire risk that he was able to rectify. We also had some handyman work completed, including removal of moldy drywall from the cold room. This work too was done quickly and neatly. The numerous painters on our job were friendly, punctual and skilled. I had confidence in the quality of the materials used and am very pleased with the end result. I would definitely consider Perfect Painter for any future renovation projects.

Carvel is a miracle worker. He completely revitalized our ceramic floor and transformed our master bathroom from dingy to spa worthy in one day! Not only was I impressed that they arrived on time, but also with the care and detail taken to complete the restoration. The before and after pictures on the website truly reflect the difference made by having Groutmasters clean and seal your grout. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Groutmasters to anyone who wants to restore the grout on their floor or shower, and have already provided their name to my real estate agent for one of her clients who is preparing his home to be put up for sale.
