Nearly new over the range microwave had stopped heating food. I contacted the company (based on the strong Homestars reviews) noting that the magnetron was not working and could they have someone examine it in case there was a simple repair. Steve came promptly (two hours after the call), put a glass of water in the microwave turned it on and told me the magnetron was not working. This I knew. He did not do any further diagnosis, remove the panel to examine the appliance etc which I had expected he would do to determine if there was only a minor issue. He told me the magnetron would have to be replaced at a cost exceeding that of new microwave. He then recommended that should I want to replace it, I choose the same brand for the replacement - which seems a poor recommendation for an appliance that failed after 1.5 years. You can be sure I will look elsewhere for an installer for the new microwave.
