Furance service call/service agreement
I purchased a furnace in December 2007 with this company. The sales person at the time was great and provided one year free service and cleaning. This person is no longer with the company. I wonder why? In Oct. 2008, I receive my complementary cleaning which took all of 5 minutes. In March 2009, my furnace was not working. Four calls were placed to the customer service line in one night with no returned call. After complaining to the answering service for a 5th time the following day, I received a call back. I was informed that I did not have a service agreement therefore the cost to come to the house would be $150. I explained I had not received information for a service renewal, but would be happy to purchase one now. I was told that company policy stipulates that you have to purchase the service agreement prior to a service call. In short I was charged $150 for a service call and an additional $90 for labor; with tax the total was $269 for a 15 minute cleaning; no parts were necessary. I explained the situation to the office manager the next business day via telephone. He claims a letter was sent to renew the agreement. He refused to compromise even though all that was required was a 15 minute cleaning; his response was both rude and arrogant. Clearly the manager was more concerned about winning a battle than retaining a customer. I have taken my business elsewhere and strongly recommend avoiding Comfort Zone 21 Degrees for any heating and air conditioning needs.
