We originally contacted Scott in the summer of 2019 to quote on our kitchen renovation. We were planning on confirming the job in early 2020 and then the world shut down. In 2022, we reached out to Scott and still wary of doing a huge renovation, we instead decided to move forward with renovating our basement bathroom and laundry room, two rooms that have been in major need of an overhaul since we bought the home 9 years ago. They are both small spaces, but I had some big dreams for them! Scott presented a detailed quote and the job commenced in December and was completed in March. (In part due to my indecisiveness on some finishes) To say that we are thrilled with our new rooms, is an understatement! Our bathroom and laundry room are my two new favourite rooms in our home. I shared with Scott my design boards at the beginning of the job and he understood what we were looking for in terms of craftsmanship and aesthetic. Being a professional designer myself, the overall look and feel of both rooms was very important to me and although we had a budget ($39k in total including fixtures and all trims), we still wanted beautiful rooms that conveyed our own personal style and design aesthetic. Scott and his team were so professional, always arriving on time, took great care with our home and ensured everything was well partitioned off to avoid dust (as much as possible), covered our hardwood floors and ensured everything was tidy at the end of the day. His trades were prompt, friendly and enjoyable to have in our home. The work was beautifully done (my husband is quite a perfectionist and has done a bulk of our renovations himself as well, so for him to be impressed, says a lot). Scott did most of the finishing himself which shows how much he cares about his work. Scott was also very transparent when it came to how much things cost, if we were able to save some money on some things and provided various options at different price points. As a business owner myself, i appreciate that as well as the transparency. It shows wonderful character. Overall working with Gala Renovations was a wonderful experience and we would not hesitate to recommend them to others. We hope to have Scott back to do the kitchen eventually!
