I contacted Birne Electric to assess the wiring in my 1926 home, it became evident that there was knob & tube wiring that needed to be replaced. Initially, I was very concerned about how damaging and disruptive this process was going to be; but, once Chris their representative came and did the evaluation and outlined the procedure, it became clear that they did this on an ongoing basis and completed them with minimal intrusion to your home and your life. Chris presented us with a clear and concise roadmap of how they would systematically work through the home to minimize the inconvenience. Chris and his team showed up on time and worked consistently for the two weeks it took to complete the conversion. They were always respectful of my home and cleaned up and removed any debris on a daily basis. They can also provide a referral to a qualified professional that will come, review, and submit a quote any repair work that will be necessary. We were extremely satisfied with the entire process and very relieved when it was all completed. Fast forward a year later and I had a burst pipe in the upstairs bathroom that caused extensive damage. I needed to get an emergency plumber and an electrician because the water was waterfalling through the potlights on the main floor and down into the basement. I called Birnie's emergency number and fortunately Chris picked up on the long weekend. He was at my home within the hour and he was able to do the remedial work and protected the new panel from what would have been extensive damage. It was extremely reassuring to have him show up and stabilize the situation and curtail the damage. It took approximately five months to do the home restoration and repair and fortunately we were able to schedule Chris to return and complete the electrical repair work. We were so pleased that Birnie Electric and Chris were available for continuity to work with the insurance contractor to restore the electrical system. I recently had a burst pipe in my upstairs bathroom, the timing couldn't have been worse; it was on a Saturday of a long weekend. I started phoning around to find a plumber who could respond to an emergency flood. Since the water had travelled along the electrical wiring and down to the basement, it was extremely urgent to hsve the plumbing repaired, so the electrician could restore the power. Fortunately Indra answered his phone and was at my residence within an hour of my call. He arrived assessed the situation and set about repairing the burst pipe, replacing the shut off valve and draining and restoring the system.
