2/10

After witnessing Kymand's project work for more than 10 days, I can't recommend this company. New shingles were to be installed and some gutter work to be done on Aug-22. It's Sep-1 now, and the work still isn't finished due to communication issues between management and the work crew. After installing shingles, I found unsealed exposed nails, gutter guards were removed but not replaced, drip edges weren't installed, and a closed valley was installed rather than an open metal valley. Ten days later, the requested gutter work hasn't started, but today the 2nd invoice was sent ... We'll report how the story unfolds later. Update Sep-8-2022: Two and a half weeks into the process - after a few phone calls and text messages - exposed nails were sealed, gutter guards and drip edges were installed, and the closed valley was opened. We found quite a few nails in the gutters when cleaning them and are still waiting for the gutter work to be scheduled. The company needs to improve its communication with customers. We haven't heard from them in a week. Update Sep-9 The gutter work has been completed by a subcontractor who did an excellent job. They charged $318. Kymand sent the second invoice minutes after the work was done, charging $500 for the gutter job. So, I would suggest to assign separate jobs to different companies to avoid paying middlemen. To summarize, here are my scores along several dimensions: - communication (with customer and crew) : 1/5 [ project updates only after complaining, crew not aware of metal valleys ] - project scheduling : 2/5 [ uncertainty, long delays ] - main roof work (shingles) : 4/5 [ exposed nails, nails and debris in gutters ] - additional roof work (drip edges, metal valley) : 2/5 [ completed only after complaining ] Overall, I can't recommend this company

Company Response

Hello,

I appreciate your feedback on the project that has taken place at your residence. In terms of the timeframe, I understand things went slower than anticipated and our apologies for that. As for some of the other points you went over, everything is being remedied and fixed. We have not left your house in disarray and you are in contact with ownership to ensure everything is done to your liking. Drip edges have been installed, valleys have been opened up nails have been covered, and the gutter team arrives on Monday to complete the final step of this project. We appreciate your business.
