For the second time in less than a month and about 10th time in the past 30 years, our clay tile "sanitary" drain backed up. We knew this system was terminally clogged and damaged by roots from a beautiful silver maple located on city property and that we would need a temporary cleanout and a long term solution to the problem. On the basis of a stellar recommendation from a friend, we contacted Hoerner Heating, Plumbing and Drains. They sent Nick and Cole to the rescue with snakes and cameras two days after our call, which was not a real emergency. Within three hours after arrival, the team had the drain flowing again, and had formulated a detailed plan at reasonable cost to replace the old tiles using pipe bursting technology! In brief, we were impressed by the problem solving ability of the Team, and attention to detail generally. And feeling confident about the big job ahead! Well, the backwater valve and new piping have now been installed. This took only 3 days and there were no surprises. Thanks again to Nick and Cole and team for the quality work.

We have been using Maple for the past 5 years for window cleaning of our two and a half storey house and eaves cleaning of the house and garage. We have been consistently happy customers. We found Art Metal through a HomeStars search. They just installed an ornamental wroght iron railing on our front steps and an ornamental grill for the window on our side door. Our 85 year old garage was in dire need of a new concrete floor., the existing one having developed a huge crack. We chose this company to do the replacement on the basis of their outstanding HomeStars rating. We were not disappointed. Hubert provided a very reasonable quote promptly. Although we were told the job would likely take two days to complete, Hubert and his team removed the old floor and put in the new one on the same day. They also helped us move "stuff" from the existing floor and walls so they could work safely. They came back a day or so after finishing the floor to make sure there were no complications. Further confidence in this company came from Agnes who responded to our email messages quickly. We recommend this company highly and without reservation. We are repeat customers. We have had lovely shades and Venetian blinds installed on several windows in our 86 year old house, and about 12 years ago had the old basement floor replaced. This time the 60 year old tiles on the floor of the basement bathroom were in dire need of replacement, so off to Kingsway Carpets and Blinds we went. After two visits to their showroom, we settled on a green-tone vinyl with a mock stone pattern. George said the new vinyl could be installed in one piece over the existing tiles, which still were firmly attached. This was done yesterday in about 2.5 hours, and the new floor looks really great! Prompt, efficient and courteous service - very reasonably priced. They phoned 35 minutes before arrival so we could confine the cat. We selected this company on the basis of their outstanding Home Stars reviews. Our already high expectations were exceeded! Thank you again David for your gracious help in removing/disposing of the heavy and ancient piece of furniture, and for providing confidence that removal/disposal of another much heavier piece should be feasible, though this one may need a saw. Thank you again Maria, George, Alex and your team for making us happy once again! Installation of the Alustra Luminette Privacy Sheers in our living room a couple of years ago made the 40-year sheers and drapes in the dining room look pretty dowdy. So we called Maria to see what she might recommend . She immediately said “Alustra Silhouette window coverings”. Alex came at a prearranged time, did measurements with his laser distance measurer rapidly, and suggested we use separate panels for each of the three windows to show off the reddish brown gumwood frames that matched the wainscoting on the walls. At the same visit, Alex did an estimate for removing and replacing a warped 30 year wall to wall carpet in our attic. He recommended a nylon rug with a high quality underpad and even suggested the colour to blend with the antique pine wall and ceiling paneling! After considering this and a few other options, we agreed that Alex’ choice was the best. As before, we were impressed with the efficiency and proficiency of the installations and the fact that no messes were left behind. Thank you everyone for coming to our aid yet once again.
