This our second go with using Long Life Windows and Doors. We are so very pleased to be employing the services of the business run by Kris and Katie (and Lisa in the office) again. We came into a bit of money and decided to update the rest of the windows on our house (Long Life did 3 of our windows a few years ago) and we immediately decided to go with Lng Life again. The two crews that showed up to do the work, Peter, Peter, Dylan, Duncan, Morty and Tim, expertly led by the two foremen Curtis and Stuart, did a first rate professional job for us, and were very courteous and professional and respectful of our property. We were very happy to pay a bit more for the long lasting quality and would not hesitate to refer Long Life to anyone that wants top quality product installed by a top notch crew (or TWO crews in our case!). Thank you all, Kris, Katie, Lisa, Stuart, Curtis, Peter, Peter, Dylan, Duncan, Tim and Morty.

Firstly, I had contacted no less than 3 different contractors to perform the job. I know the window business is both busy and competitive, what with either new construction and/or renovations taking most of the various company's times. Of the 3 that I contacted, Chris got back to me in the timeliest manner. To backtrack, I'd e-mailed each of them pictures of each window to be replaced, with the specific measurements. And of the 3, Chris was the only one that actually made an on site visit to see for himself what the actual job was. Further, I had still not heard from the other two yet, so I followed up with them, and they each finally responded with a quote without a site visit. By then, I'd made up my mind to go with Long Life. My wife and I visited the showroom and spoke with Chris directly about our needs and preferences. During this meeting he let us know in no uncertain terms that the job, being a small one, would get done within about a 10 week period, and would be a good end of the week installation so the guys can get an early start on their weekend. In other words, he didn't promise anything he couldn't or wouldn't deliver on. A few weeks later, one of his installers contacted me to do another site visit to assess the job at hand. He took detailed notes of what we wanted and we discussed other issues with the window replacement that they could mitigate. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, and out of our conversation I felt assured that the job would be done with excellence. On the day that the job was to be worked on, Preston was the lead of the two person crew. Both of the installers were very professional, friendly, and totally respectful of our house and property. They did the job in a few short hours, and cleaned up after themselves and left the place as though they'd never been there, with the exception of the newly installed windows. From start to finish, I had an extremely pleasant experience with Long Life, and I would heartily recommend this company to anyone.

We discovered some ant activity when our previous tenant moved out, and after handling that issue we discovered a larger issue requiring us to have the shower stall in the lower suite re-done. After contacting several renovation companies from Homestars and receiving site inspections and quotes, we settled on Mainland Ventures. And we are so very happy with our decision! Paul was very kind, friendly, cordial and informative. He was also very forthcoming with answers on other little repair items around the house not to do with the work we hired him for. He gave what we felt was an honest dollar estimate of the work needed, and in our minds was a fair and reasonable quote. The experience of working with Paul and his team was well worth the time and money spent on the project. As with the hiring of any contractor, trust can also be a huge issue. When they began the work, he and his crew were very respectful of our space, i.e. they didn't bang about carelessly with their tools or with the removal of the damaged parts. They were also very cooperative and allowed either my wife and I or both of us to observe the work they were doing (as well as ask lots of questions and take pictures), while it was being taken down and put back together, layer by layer. This alone gave us absolute trust in this group, and we were very impressed with the results. Also, the work ethic of each of his employees was top notch. I could instantly ascertain from their attitudes and demeanor that they each took pride in what they did. All of them were very knowledgeable, experienced and capable in their construction abilities. As a team they were all conscientious and thorough. Should we require work to be done on our home in the future we would definitely be in contact with Paul again.
