We found Marjan and On-Time via homestars. He answered my request for quote immediately, was on the phone with me and came out to survey the job within a couple days of my initial request. Marjan was very detailed in how he'd approach the deck in terms of the materials he'd be using and how it would be built. (He had me at "joist protection" :) ) We agreed to move ahead, and all I had to do was pick our deck colour and rails and Marjan handled everything else. My understanding is he usually has other people helping but I guess they were unavailable so Marjan built it *by HIMSELF* in 3.5 days. And we're talking 2x12s with carriage bolts, cedar posts, 16x8 foot deck 12 or so feet in the air. Not only was he quick, I, without exaggeration, have the best deck on the street. I've watched crews of 3-4 guys build my neighour's decks slower, without the same level of quality Marjan brought. Pure skill and experience. A total Pro. Joe, Ben, Ian and team did a great job on my roof. They're approach is unique in that they set up a zoom call with me initially and Ben spent a half hour educating me on roof options and fielding my questions before I made my decision to hire them and honestly, their high level of communication before (and after) is one of the main reasons I chose them. Why the 9 and not a 10? Well the roof did have a minor leak after the work was completed, but I believe you can evaluate a company by how they deal with issues and defects. Joe's communication was prompt, and Ian and his team came out as soon as it was safe to do so (as it was during the winter and I have a 3 storey townhouse). It took another visit to sort it completely. It's been a couple years now since the work was completed and so far, so good!
