REVIEW
I was informed by my electrician that a trench was required before he would be able to change the electric panel. The contractor and his team had the courtesy to show up and bid on the project. Here’s some pros and cons on that project that eventually stretch over a few weeks.
PROS
1- The contractor is an entrepreneur with vision, as he sees potential in the house market and provide enlighten on how to improve.
2- He is open to bargaining and a successful businessman.
3- He has access to different machinery to complete the work required.
4- He mentioned me that I was a fantastic customer.
5- Even though he had issues with the electrician, he was able to later speak with him and finally reconcile.
6- He is a proud man and want to be proud of his work.
7- There were some major issues with the work performed (as discussed below) and the contractor was initially open to provide a small compensation for what went wrong.
For the following reasons (especially #10), I can’t recommend this contractor.
CONS
1- The contractor told me he was not interested in constructive feedback, as he ‘’does his best to care for each client’’.
2- His team rammed the door of my fence with his machinery and mentioned later that it was already rotten. He wanted to charge me up to 100$/foot to replace it and replaced it with a fence with no door. The area wasn't accessible anymore.
3- They scratched a few trees while performing the work.
4- They broke underground electric wires while digging which created shutdown in my house.
5- The contractor nailed his publicity add on a tree in my front yard without asking for permission.
6- The contractor yells and swear at his employees on the project, even though he was informed that I had children at home.
7- I felt pressure from the contractor to pay all project even when there’s pending issues
8- The contractor had difficulties respecting written specification provided and argue that the job performed ‘respect the code’ while citing different sections of what appear to be it.
9- The contractor never showed up to finish his work after he realized that another project was given to another entrepreneur.
10- **UPDATE** The contractor threaten to sue me for defamation after publishing this initial review.
