I have used Stan's twice for quite different work involving our old hot water heating system. The company hires competent heating and plumbing specialists who are not only able to do this kind of work quickly and cost-efficiently but who are also flexible in terms of working out solutions to unusual situations encountered during the job. The price they charged us for what was apparently a fairly complicated job was better than reasonable. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of work on an older hot water heating system.

I was truly amazed at the speed with which this company was able to completely sand, repair and refinish the old hardwood floors in the living room and dining room of our old house. They were in an out in a day and only had to come back another day to do minor fixes on cracks that opened up as the finish dried. Their price was equally amazing for such a job. I would highly recommend this company for anyone in an older house thinking of having their old hardwood floors renovated.

Frank and his team are true professionals but more than that they are considerate of the needs of their customers and are extremely fair when it comes to pricing a job and making any adjustments to the price once the job is done. On one job they even reduced the price they quote after the job was done because it did not take them as long as anticipated. When problems occur (don't they always occur when working on an old house) they are patient and resourceful in finding solutions to the problem that won't cost the earth. I highly recommend this company for any small to medium size jobs you may have in your home.

The company owner hardly ever supervises his workers and some of the workers seems like they may not even be qualified electricians. consequently the work was continuously having to be redone and many mistakes were made. The owner also charged more than the agreed price because his men were leaving as soon as he turrned his back and he was paying them for time they did not work. Problems like cross-wiring between outlets and light switches persisted even after the owner was paid in full.

Avoid this company like the plague! I have never met a bunch of more incompetent tradesmen in my life. They worked as if they were not a team, one guy installing wires and the others spending hours trying to figure out what they connected. The owner and apparently the only qualified electrician was never on site except for occasional visits in the morning and hence no coordination took place. When I told him his main wiring man would leave the minute he turned his back he said it was no business of mine because he was charging me a fixed amount for the job. But it meant the work went on for well over a month when it could have been done in a matter of days or a week at most. And then he charged me $1500 over what he esitmated mainly because he was paying his men for hours they didn't work. Electrical outlets were left disconneted from any line despite repeatedly telling him about this. The team left for the weekend with the freezer outlet not working. New circuit breakers would blow repeatedly due to overloading on the lines. Light switches and outlets would not work unless another light switch was already on. New outlets in main rooms like the living room were surface mounted rather than recessed because it was too much trouble for his men to do. All in all this job was a comedy of errors worthy of the keystone cops and would actually have been very funny to watch on TV if my wife and I did not have to live through it and pay through the nose for it. PS: Three years later I am still coming across wires that they left disconnected that are live and pose a danger to human life and the safety of the home.
