We finally broke down and hired a contractor to help us finish our basement. Double O was recommended to us by a couple other families who'd had their homes built by them, and that we wouldn't be disappointed. Were they ever right! The guys were great, they came in under-budget compared to what we'd been quoted, they were respectful of our home and family, and the craftsmanship of their work is incredible.
We purchased a new furnace for our aging home approx 10 years ago. We came home from work last week and the furnace was no longer working. My husband called the guys at Jorgensen's and although it was after-hours they came by within the hour to replace our furnace. Thank you so much for the excellent service and not leaving us in the cold!
After building our new home my husband and I were in search of some original artwork. We brought fabric swatches, paint chips, and photos of our home into the store with us and they were very helpful in finding pieces that would compliment our design. Best of all, we got to support local artists and a local business.
Mel was always punctual, clean, and courteous. He treated our home as he would have his own and did an amazing job. We hired him to paint our home following renovations to update the interior and knew that we couldn't do a job this good by ourselves. I went into Wideman's looking for new paint for a newly renovated bathroom. While they have a reputation in town of being expensive, everyone recommends them so I thought I'd give them a shot. Upon entering the shop I was immediately greeted and asked if I required any assistance. I had a colour chosen from swatches, but was curious if it could be made a couple shades lighter without altering the tone too much. She brought the swatch to the guys in the back for their opinion, and they came and explained that if we lightened it that it would become too pink (not what I was going for) and helped me choose another colour that would suit my decor. They also helped choose the perfect primer and paint base to prevent mould/mildew in the bathroom and help hold the colour. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely go back.
The hinge in my HP laptop broke and the screen was delaminating so I took it in to see what could be done. Because the laptop no longer had a warranty it could not simply be replaced however the gentlemen stated that they could easily fix it. I backed up all my files at home and dropped it off with them for a week. When I came to pick it up they hadn't fixed the problem, stating that it was impossible to fix, that there was no way they told me it could be fixed, and charged me just shy of $200. Needless to say I'm not too thrilled with the outcome and would have preferred being told upfront that it was likely unfixable.
Dave came by one afternoon to give us a quote to re-do the plumbing in our bathroom. We were wanting to combine our small master bathroom with the full bath it shared a wall with, and needed to move some of the plumbing around. Not only did Dave give us the most cost-effective quote, but he came by a few days after the quote to get started on the work. It took him a total of 3 days to complete the work, but it was done well and our new bathroom looks great!
The gentlemen that came to re-build our back deck were incredibly polite and did a fantastic job! They demolished the old deck, built a new base for the deck, built it up from the bottom, and stained everything to match the house perfectly. Almost a year later our deck remains strong and level. The gentlemen works quickly and the whole job was done in a weekend, with little disturbance to my family. Such polite young men and a job very well done!
