I was referred to Keith at Home Perspectives by and friend as we needed to have our exterior dryer vent cap replaced as the old one was coming apart and we suspected a mouse may have been getting in through it. Keith came out wearing a mask (which we appreciate in this social environment) took his shoes off while he was in the house, and assessed the work. With some trouble shooting, as nothing is as easy as it seems, he found that we had a 4” vent pipe leading out to a 5” exterior vent cap, just one pipe sitting in the other causing lint to build up in the pipe! He asked for our dryer manuel and noted that it calls for standard 4” vent pipe. He gave us his advice and options and suggested that we reduce the exterior vent cap from 5” to a 4” so that we can properly connect both vent pipes and get a better vent cap with a removable grill to keep the critters out and he added a custom metal flashing plate to cover the bigger hole, caulked and sealed it. We are happy with his service and having him look at some other work around the house, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his services to others. Thanks Keith!
