I hired this company on December 2019. Project consisted in finishing the basement of my house located in Aylmer (Gatineau), including a bathroom. We agreed on a price and timeline. Project was going to last no more than 4 weeks, meaning December 31st 2019 at the latest. The owner, called Serge and his team came in a couple of straight days, then started giving all sorts of unbelievable reasons for not coming in. Despite him working an hour here and there, I was still paying him. This is probably the biggest mistake I made. By end of March I had paid almost 95% of the amount, for not even 50% of the work done. So Serge started asking for more money. Asking me to pay for things he was supposed to take care of. I contacted la Régie du Batiment du Quebec and they asked me if I had his RBQ number. I knew nothing about that. That is my second biggest mistake. Despite my threats to report him, Serge never showed up again. All that to say: DO NOT hire that company. It doesn't have a RBQ number, owner is extremely dishonest. and quality of work is less than average.
