We contacted Skylights Unlimited based on the excellent reviews, and because they specialize in Skylight install, and are not a 'jack of all trades'. When it comes to skylights, expert knowledge, install and reputation, as well as top quality product was important to us. They were very responsive to our inquiry and came out for an estimate exactly when promised. Even though we indicated we wanted top quality, and were unconcerned about the cost - but rather more concerned about the quality - we didn't feel oversold and in fact they recommended exactly what we had in mind - no more or less. We had the old style bubble skylights - 2 very large ones (4 x 4 feet) and one smaller one - and like others they began to leak. We wanted triple pane for energy efficiency, and in one room a solar blind. The quote was given in January, and they advised that it would take about a month to manufacture them, and that they needed about 5 days window of a certain temperature to install. They would contact us when that time arrived. Indeed they contacted us exactly during a warm spell, and came to our home at 830 am exactly when promised on the exact day promised - and the install occurred flawlessly in the same day for all 3 skylights. We could not be more pleased with the neatness of the install. Hard to tell where the old shingles meet the new ones. Our rooms are unbelievably quieter, and the sunlight coming through the new skylights is so much whiter. Didn't realize how yellowed the old bubble sky ones were and how much that affected the light streaming in. Great job. Absolutely recommended. A pleasure to deal with a company that does what is says, meets the promises it makes, and provides the service and expertise you are paying for.

We kind of stumbled across Andrew's company and saw the good reviews and decided to talk to him and learn more. Very glad that we did. Andrew is patient, extremely knowledgeable about various doors, how things are manufactured and what the performance and differences between different materials are. His custom work was beautiful and unique. It took us a while to decide what we wanted - with work of this calibre and design you don't want to rush the process and so I suggest that you take your time, and allow the process to take as long as it does. Andrew came to our home initially, then later we went to his studio to see some glass samples, then later he emailed us some design ideas - all of this doesn't happen in a week so I think because we were not in a hurry that also helped our experience. When the day came for install, his team came to put in the doors and what an amazing team. We truly have never seen such professional install. Our house is older and so of course nothing is straight and we had lots of challenges but his team was professional, absolutely exactly and uncompromising in getting these doors put in perfectly. I now realize how poorly the existing doors were installed. They managed to install it all in one day. The original doors looked so bad we thought the wall would have to be ripped out - but no - it was the install of the original door was so uneven that it made the wall appear bad. Hard to explain but suffice to say the install demonstrated superb skill. A week later Andrew himself came to install the glass inserts and we are more pleased than we imagined. We simply love the new doors and so glad we didn't wait. After raving about them and showing them off to friends and neighbors I then learned how reasonable was the price point. We didn't do a lot of shopping around for price - we shopped for quality only - but imagine our pleasant surprise to find out that the price point was so incredbile for a custom product. I only wish I could use Lusso Design again....but Andrew and his team already did 3 of the doors I have! There were a few minor details that we wanted addressed and Andrew was responsive and 'made it right' for us. Definitely recommended.

This review is long overdue. This review is a reflection of my experience over the last 2.5 years dealing with this company. The price listed reflects the work I had done on my most recent visit, for 9 pieces of framing work in one go. I have been patronizing Frames and Pictures ever since we moved into the area in 2012. Tim and Lillian's professionalism, integrity, and quality of work are unmatched in my experience. We have had a beautiful custom mirror done, original oils canvas paintings have been framed, family photos, and valueless but sentimentally priceless mementos framed with care and attention to detail. In all cases our expectations were exceeded. They both have such an eye for matching frames or mats to the piece at hand, with a view to the style of the pieces, all the while being sensitive to our personal taste. Recently, I brought in a 45 year old chipped blue glass frame with and old black and white photo of my parents on their wedding day. This old blue glass frame was an icon in my family as that wedding photo was in there for 50 years and never moved or changed frames. I wanted a way to hang that desk framed photo on the wall, without removing it from its original and iconic blue glass frame. Lillian pointed to a blue suede mat (which I never would have even thought of) and Tim explained how he could attach this to a hanging frame - as is - and then they put it in a lovely silver frame - matching the feeling of the black and white photo, as well as several other pieces I have and my beautiful silver mirror from a previous purchase here. Amazing outcome. I don't think there is anything they cannot do. And the other really striking thing is that their prices are so competitive. A couple of times my husband and I wandered into a store that had pre made frames - thinking 'why spend the money on professional for some inexpensive photo". Truth is - the pre made factory frames are the same price or often actually more expensive than Frames and Picture, but the quality is never there on those store bought pieces. We realized that there is no point even wasting time looking for cheap frames when this store does outstanding work for the same price, but most often less! Places like these where customer service and pride in your work are hard to find these days of mass production and race to the bottom pricing. What a gem. Finally, I also wanted to mention that they can do repairs. We purchased a framed piece from Thailand on vacation recently. We loved the work but the handmade wood frame (part of the charm of the painting) was not well put together and a bit loose and only stapled together. Tim took it completely apart, shaved the corners of the teak frame to make a clean and professional framing job. It looks fantastic on the wall and matching our teak furniture. Can't recommend them highly enough.

First time I had my windows professionally cleaned. Two story house, 2 patio doors, 3 skylights and several other windows. Very fast response on the emails and sustained follow-up. Quick service date. They came within just a few days of my initial query. Can't say enough about how professional and pleasant Derek was in doing our windows. Even my old windows are positively gleaming - the sunlight just burst through. Tracks of the sliders were cleaned also. Didn't think my patio doors could get that clean. Thank you Derek - you were fantastic. Thank you to a great company - a wonderful customer experience. Money well spent.

This review is long overdue from our move date of March 2012. Life, renovations etc...got in the way. This company is fantastic. They showed up early, and worked hard. I had ordered some furniture to be delivered to the house on the same day, and asked if they would be able to move it up to the 2nd story. No problem. But a failure at the furniture company meant that they had no one to delivery - so Arby made an unscheduled additional pickup to actually get this furniture from the store, in addition to our regular move. I paid a bit more for that - but absolutely happy to do so - I was more worried about having nothing to sleep on that night (it was bedroom furniture) . I just couldn't believe how accomodating and stress free was this move. It was seriously the best experience ever. Many thanks and I would not hesitate to hire them again, or recommend them to anyone.

We chose Milorad from the Homestars ratings. It so hard to find someone reliable. It's funny, after we had the work done we raved about Milorad to friends...and small world - they told us that they had Milorad come for 3 of their projects in the past - also fantastic experiences. What we especially appreciated about this experience was Milorad's respect for our time and punctuality. Initially we booked an appt for the estimate, and he came exactly on that day and time to provide that estimate. He saw our tile and our job. Then he advised that he would be available to come two weeks later and do the job. He called one day before the date, came exactly when he promised he would, and did the job in two days, exactly as promised. (amazing...) He stayed later on both days to ensure it was done on time, as the tiles were challenging for him to work with. We are very satisfied with the job and could not be more pleased. It is so hard to find people dedicated, competent, and able to deliver what was promised, on the day it was promised. Sorry this review took so long to do Milorad. And thank you for your professionalism. It was a real pleasure to have you do our tile. We would not call anyone else for future tile work.

We are only too pleased to write a review for Husky Heating and Air Conditioning. This may be a long review, but we had such a great experience we wanted to touch on all points about it. We got home on Friday August 3rd to discover our Central AC unit had broken down. Hottest weekend we can recall this summer. On the Friday before the long weekend. We were in a panic, and began calling every company in the Homestars list, starting with the top. We knew our unit was 10-12 years old, and didn't want to waste time with fixing it. We were miserable in the heat, and wanted a brand new Lennox unit, a newer, quieter, and more efficient model. This proved difficult until we contacted Husky on Saturday mid-day. All Friday evening calls we made were to several companies who indicated they might be able to send out a technician to 'assess' our situation, perhaps on Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week, and then maybe a new install after that. One did come out, but install in 4 days. Others, as of the time I write this review, have actually not even returned our call (Today is Tuesday, from messages left Friday evening). Husky's name didn't come up on my list initially on Friday night, because I made the mistake of starting with the names at the top of Homestars - the ones with the most reviews. This proved unsuccessful and I could not call 30+ companies, so I changed tactics. I looked up authorized Lennox dealers, since we were set on a Lennox, and Husky's name was there on the Lennox website with several distinctions , and I cross checked their reviews on Homestars (all wonderful) and so by Saturday morning I called them. From the first moment of contact with this company I was greeted by a wonderful and truly sympathetic woman who answered the phone (I did not catch her name) and who immediately gave me the cell phone of the Owner Dimitri, urging me to call ASAP. I did, and Dimitri spoke to my husband, and understood that our 12 + year old unit was probably not worth saving, and we only discussed which Lennox we wanted, and how soon we could get it !! We were hoping for Monday, but Dimitri indicated that his crew could come Sunday morning. Joy ! Let me also mention that we have a challenging install of a garage rooftop AC unit. We worried that this would put them off our job. No problem they said. Just have extra bodies on hand. Instead, we arranged for a GenieLift to be at our house to assist (seriously we were motivated to help them help us !) Part 3 of our Husky experience were the two technicians - Fred and Jenissie "Jay". These incredibly courteous and hard working men were obviously experts in what they did. They showed up on time, and set to work immediately. They took away the old unit and cleaned up everything. As an aside, Jay noticed that our Furnace exhaust pipe install was off code because some parts of the pipe were not to code and potentially could crack, leading to CO fumes in the house. As new homeowners to the house, we were doubly appreciative and took his interest in our safety very seriously. We will arrange to replace this. After the unit was hooked up, and all seemed ready to go, there seemed to be an issue with the existing electrical. After some deliberation, a visit to the electrical panel showed the problem. After that, all was wonderful. The new unit (Lennox XC14) is much much quieter that the old one. And we were enjoying this when other companies were calling us back to arrange assessment visits. Finally, Part 4 of our Husky experience. The bill. We were so glad that Husky could come and put in our unit, we did not even ask about the cost. However, we had an idea because others we had spoken to had given us some figures. Husky could have charged us anything I guess. They could have padded the figure - I mean it WAS the long weekend. But we were amazed yet again by the price. It was $1000+ LESS that the competitors were quoting. I would unhesitatingly recommend this company to anyone. August long weekend, Saturday call, Sunday install, kind, sympathetic, straightforward, expert, and very fair pricing.

We are relatively new to Toronto having moved across the country. We finally were settling down and wanted to invest in quality mattresses. Initially we were looking for latex, and I found a reference to TON mattresses on a blog that described various suppliers. I sent an email to Andy late on Friday and he responded immediately with advice that we could visit the factory on Saturday. I was impressed ! Hard working and he takes customer service seriously. When we met Andy we were impressed with his knowledge and great attitude. He shared a lot of information with us - not only on mattresses, but also other tidbits useful to newcomers to the city. After a tour of the factory, which was very interesting, we tried all the mattresses and settled on perhaps 2 of them. We told him we would be back. No problem he said. Free Delivery - any time that suited us. it all sounded good at the time. A month later we went back with our own pillows to try them out again. We wanted to be really sure that we were making the right choice. Andy was great during all of this and really understood and supported the idea that we should duplicate our sleeping experience so that we could get the best idea of how the mattress would feel. Its a big decision, but in the end we chose 2 king sized Venetian gel mattresses with individual pocket coils. We placed the order and I contacted Andy a few days before delivery. He came exactly when promised and was great even during a challenging 2nd floor delivery that required up and over the balcony to get in....for TWO mattresses. Andy is a total professional who knows his stuff and takes customer service seriously. And the mattress is sooo comfortable. We love it. Can't recommend him highly enough. Andy simply defines excellence in customer experience. Call him. Talk to him. Order a mattress from him. You will be glad you did. Best purchasing experience we have so far made.
