Please do yourself a favour and take the time to research the names of his 3 former companies on the internet before you agree to conduct business with Mitch. Ensure that you check the names listed below on other review websites, as well as the Better Business Bureau website. You will see why he has had to change the name of his company so many times in the last few years. Notice that the business address and postal code remain the same in each case. - Durham Region Contracting Inc. - Mitchell and CO. Construction. - 1 more that I am restricted from mentioning, and not listed at the top of this web page. Also, it is imperative that you ask for Mitch's full name and research that as well. This will lead you to his former companies, his previous projects, and reviews that were published because of them. Although his newest company appears to have been reviewed almost perfectly so far, it is these past companies and projects that will show what I and many others have learned the hard way. Doing this may save you from the financial loss and mental anguish I've gone through during my unfortunate interaction with him. Don't just heed this warning alone, read the many others online and use your better judgement. I'm sure there may be some customers who've had a satisfactory experience with Mitch, but there are too many egregious experiences to ignore and giving him your project simply isn't worth the risk in my opinion. There are far better contractors out there that do work in a timely manner, with higher quality, and offer better communication and customer service. If you still choose to conduct business with Mitch, for your own sake: - Get everything in writing. - Take pictures. - Take notes. - Do not pay cash and keep financial records. - Ask to have a payment structure that encourages him to finish the job on time and properly. (His usual payment structure has the bulk of the money paid before even half of the work is completed, which opens up the possibility of "ghosting" while already having most of your money.)
