I'd pretty well given up on hoping to find an honest and capable plumber in East York until we had the good fortune to connect with Alex at Dunkirk Plumbing & Heating. After what we've been through with several plumbers in the past year (exhorbitant pricing, hidden fees, insolent attitudes and, worst of all, finding out you're dealing with an unidentifiable, unreachable company instead of the plumbers themselves), Dunkirk Plumbing & Heating was a clearly brilliant find. Alex is straightforward, punctual, quick to understand what needs doing, and then efficient and meticulous performing the work. 5 stars all round.

Toilet Repair I called this company because my toilet was flushing slowly or not at all. They sent a plumber and an assistant. After about 5m minutes the plumber called me up to show me that the toilet was now flushing. It took them less than 10 minutes and required no tools or parts. The plumbers do not decide the price. Oddly, while the plumber was in the bathroom the office called to tell me it was $565, before the plumber had even finished or communicated with them. This is an outrageous price for no tools, parts and 10 minutes of labour. I told her as much but she said I had to pay it to the plumber immediately and he would wait until I did. Later that day, the toilet was not flushing again. It was as if no repair had taken place. I called the office of Touch Plumbing and they said that I had to speak to the plumber himself to see if he had a warranty. Touch Plumbing took no responsibility for the work. The plumber has no warranty. So it turns out that there is no recourse for me having paid $500 for absolutely nothing. I'm a senior on a limited income and this has been a devastating experience. All I can do is warn others to avoid this company.
