10/10

We realized that we had a problem when a bird flew into our fireplace even though we have a cage on top of the chimney. From the ground I could see that the top layer of bricks had shifted and heaved.I called a couple of masonry companies one did not reply at all and one left a message saying they would get back to me and after some days of phone tag I gave up on them.I called A&A based on some Homestar reviews and the receptionist called me back within an hour or two.She arranged for someone to call me and come and have a look. This was on a Friday.John Mc Cutcheon called me Monday ,came out on Tuesday and e-mailed me a detailed estimate by the end of the day.I agreed to proceed and Andy called me the next day to arrange to do the work the next Monday as the weather was going to be favourable. The guys arrived after I had left for work and were cleaning up and loading the truck when I got home. They rebuilt my 25 year old chimney from the roofline up to above the roof peak adding two feet to the original height to meet code and topped it with a concrete cap (which if installed originaly would have prevented a lot of the weather damage)They managed to match the old brick very closley.Unless you knew the work had been done you would not be able to see the slight shading difference of the new brick.I was very pleased with their efficiency and the clean no mess job.We were happy to get this work done before the winter sets in.I would use A&A again and would recommend them to my friends and neighbours. Thanks Bill! We put a lot of work in to bring our speed up to as close to instant service as possible. It's nice to get acknowledged for it.
