We had an extremely frustrating experience with Instant Lawns, who we hired for a light landscaping job in our back yard. Despite the fact that they request the client be home during the work to review it on completion, they behaved as if it didn't matter when they showed up. We were booked for a Friday morning at 7am, and confirmed the date and time a couple of days prior. We called to check in at 10 that morning (after no one had showed up or contacted us), and were told they thought they had scheduled us for early in the afternoon. At 3pm that day (again calling because we had heard nothing), we were told they "had trouble with one of their trucks", and eventually we got someone out to do the job around 5:30pm. They ran out of gravel and soil, and told us they would be back Monday to finish the job. We had similar experiences (with no-shows and delays, "equipment trouble", and miscommunications), sometimes unable to reach anyone for hours after they were booked to arrive, on 4 of the following 6 days! Finally, a week later, they had completed what was booked to be a one day job. Needless to say, it was extremely frustrating to plan our day around scheduled work, only to have that work not done on time, rescheduled repeatedly, and left unfinished for a week. Most disappointing of all was that we were dealing with Jacob (the company's CEO) throughout the process, and found him difficult to reach, disorganized, and dismissive. Not until a week into the process did we receive something even resembling an apology, and even then, only barely. It is clear that instant lawns is concerned only with pumping through as many jobs as possible during their work season, which unfortunately leaves little time for attention to quality of work or customer service.
