Our fireplaces were really not operative any more...wood-burning, smoke coming into the house, pulling warmth out of the house instead of into it. Shopped around much the same way a previous reviewer did and found the same thing. Many places just want you to buy the flavour of the month they want to get rid of in the showroom. They aren't really concerned whether the unit is right for your house and you'll be happy with it. Gasland is just the opposite. A family-run business with really nice people and good customer service which does its best to give you a reasonable price, too.

We have a household full of old appliances, fixtures, etc. It seems we're never without something needing repair work. One of the most recent things was our dishwasher. We had had previous success finding used parts at Budget Appliances, so I checked there first. Sure enough, they had what we needed and it was dirt cheap. Please don't ever go out of business.

First I have to say even getting to the stage of actually having a new refrigerator to purchase took some doing. GE didn't have the original fridge I ordered in production any more and substituted another with some features I didn't really want and lacking the ones I did. There was a tremendous lack of communication during the whole procedure which was painful. I don't know if I'd buy another GE product again. I have listed this purchase under this category as a review because the problem really stemmed from the foulups GE's delivery system caused, which ultimately affected the whole experience and the proper installation of this appliance, leading to dealing with the repair service for GE appliances and lengthy delays getting the fridge up and running.

We needed to rebuild our sundeck because of rotting wood. After all the major repair work was done, we had vinyl sundeck flooring installed. The installers who came to do the work were just plain inexperienced and did a bad job from the start. Despite 3 attempts at getting it done properly, it has never been right and the company refused to do anything further. Since all the installation companies that handle this brand of vinyl sundeck flooring are independently owned and operated, Duradek Canada wouldn't take any responsibility. So, we're now facing replacement of the flooring again, as well as redoing the plywood. Very disappointing and costly.
