The company “Dryer Vent Wizard” was highly recommended to my husband and I, by a friend who had a similar problem, the dryer was taking much longer to dry the clothes. She was pleased with the results and told us the services were reasonably priced. Vic and Jeff the technicians arrived on time wearing uniforms to identify themselves, and put us at ease with their friendly manner. They showed consideration by taking all the pandemic precautions, and by wearing slips over their boots to protect our floors.
Both guys were very competent and knew about the parts and operations of a dryer. From the start they asked a series of trouble shooting questions to zero in on the root of the problem. Along the way they explained the code requirements, and made us aware of the infractions they noticed in regard to our existing dryer installation. We were surprised to learn that the second highest cause of house fires was the build up of lint inside the dryer around the motor and in the exhaust pipe to the outside. They stressed the importance of having regular maintenance, cleaning and proper venting.
We discovered the flexible hose, we are currently using, did not meet code requirements. Over the long term this could have led to a fire. After doing some readings on the force of airflow they were surprised to discover we had an airflow of 5.2 m.p.h. which was far below the required standards. My husband and I agreed to have the exhaust vent changed and the men installed a new vent resulting in a new reading of 18.2 m.p,h. What a difference that made! The dryer is now working much better and the clothes dry a lot quicker. They solved our problem and we were happy with the results and the price.
The guys spent two hours disassembling the dryer and cleaned all the inside and re-assembled it. They installed a new vent line and new metal hoses for the washer. Before they left they gave us a vent brush to clean the lint tray properly. We were also very pleased with the way they cleaned up the work area before leaving. We would recommend “Dryer Vent Wizard” to any of our friends. Joan
