Russell Custom Carpentry

Russell came by to do a small baseboard job that needed precision and detailed completion. It wasn’t just about installing 5 feet of baseboard, but required for the baseboard to be shimmed out 3/8” for a mirror to sit on it for the wall. A quick review of my materials proved they were mismatched and Russell went to the building supply store to obtain proper material. Nevertheless he saved the day, came back with appropriate material and finished the job. Capped the edge off beautifully to give that special master carpenters touch. Added the baseboard joining the door casing. Thanks Russell! I can finally get my mirror ordered and installed!

Very fine work by Martin and his crew at Russell Crown Moulding. We are in the midst of a full restoration of our 1930's brick home in midtown Toronto. We were very pleased with the attention to detail on the new staircase leading to our sunken family room as well as their work on a new window/frame for our second floor washroom. We also had RCM remove a tired radiator cover by the front door. They designed and installed a custom fit replacement that has really sharpened up the look of our main entrance. We were impressed with their work on two cupboards in our breakfast nook as well, replacing ugly melamine doors with a custom design that's become a really nice feature. Great work and a definite recommendation.

The job required the installation of several hundred linear feet of wood trim. Baseboard and casing with backhand was completed in in 2.5 days.

Martin did an amazing job with the crown moulding in my bungalow at a very reasonable price. He is meticulous, clean and clearly loves his work. I've since had him back to install a vanity, modify some shutter doors for an off-size closet, install a regular door, create some custom cupboard doors and a variety of other odd jobs. No job is too big or to small for Martin - he approaches each with the same standard of care and professionalism. Russell built a custom cover for an old cast-iron radiator in my house. The work he did it was excellent and the cover turned out beautifully with two built-in shelves. As well, he was reliable and easy to work with. I totally recommend him for your projects. Thanks Russell for your help!

I've looked for a very long time to have someone build a window-well (or box) in my deck to allow natural light into my basement. Martin got in touch with me during my search on HomeStars. Martin was there the very next day (a weekend!) and built the most beautiful window well that I could imagine. He knew immediately what needed to be done, procured the supplies, and completed the project by 5PM the same day. Martin is a great carpenter and a great 'finish' carpenter. Every day when I look at the job he did I'm grateful that he just "got it." Martin was a gentleman, cleaned up afterward, and was so polite. I would recommend him always and I will have him back to do more.
