We are very happy we had Concrete Replacement Experts replace our 45 year old crumbling driveway.
We started our journey by reading online reviews of concrete companies in the Edmonton area. We requested quotations from three of the best reviewed ones. All three quotes were competitive but we chose Concrete Replacement Experts because we liked their detailed quote, which laid out the specifics of the demolition and removal of the old driveway and the supply and installation of the new one. Wade came out, explained the process, listened to our ideas and concerns, offered suggestions, and completed the quotation on site. The entire process took about an hour.
The work crew was very professional, friendly and efficient, they demolished our old driveway and removed the debris in two days. Another two days to prepare the ground by framing, installing ground crush, tamping, and installing rebar. Care was taken to ensure proper grading for water runoff and drainage. Rick, the foreman, even suggested replacing our sidewalk with a new one that was up to code. Another day to do the preparation for the new sidewalk and we were ready to go.
They timed the concrete pouring with clement weather, they weren’t in a hurry to get the job done, they waited for as ideal weather conditions as possible. The concrete pouring team consisted of a pumper truck and a two person team to spread the concrete. It took about two hours to pour and spread the concrete and another two to finish spreading and broom it. The husband and wife team were truly masters of their craft, with 55 plus years combined experience. The concrete contractor said “you’re only as good as your last job” - boy, are they good!
The end result was a beautiful new driveway and sidewalk that is the talk of our St. Albert neighbourhood. We couldn’t be happier. We highly recommend this company.

Great experience with the concrete replacement experts. Right from the first time Wade come out to give us a quote, to 28 days after when Wade came out to seal the completed project.
Wade came out on a Thursday evening to give my husband and I a quote, before he left we had the quote in our hands. The very next day I called Wade and excepted the quote. There was a little be of luck on our side as as they were just finishing a job in Sherwood Park , so that Sunday Rick the Foreman brought the equipment over and we were able to meet with him. On Monday bright and early Rick and his Crew showed up and began the removal of the old concrete. The guys were an awesome bunch, We have 2 dogs, one that is elderly and the guys made sure that we had a ramp that we could take the dogs in out of the house with, that was very much appreciated. They worked all week removing and prepping the driveway and patio for pouring. By Monday they were ready to pour, unfortunately Mondays weather looked like rain so postponed till Tuesday. The finishing couple were very good and also Sam who
operated the pumper truck. Everyone was polite and cleaned up after themselves. We have no hesitation in referring Concrete Replacement Experts to any of our family and friends.

Our home had the original concrete from 1976. The concrete had sunk a significant amount and the cracks were becoming uneven. Basketball was more of a risk because the ball would bounce unpredictably, and even walking was becoming hazardous. Safety was the reason that we chose to have the concrete replaced.
After getting quotes and researching contractors, I met Wade and discussed the project. I requested references and went to look at a few of his accomplishments. Impressed, I gave his team the job.
A talented crew arrived and got to work immediately. Uncovering what must have passed building codes in ‘76, there was additional support required for the landing. The garage pad was hollow underneath and required proper fill and compaction. I was impressed with the work of the crew and communication from Wade.
Despite the unforgiving wet weather, they completed the job and exceeded my high expectations in a tight timeframe. Not only is the concrete correctly supported, but it is back to the original grade. Concrete doesn’t come cheap, but I believe that we found value in the quality of work that Concrete Replacement Experts did. The crew cleaned up the site each day leaving it tidy along with the neighbourhood. What initially was a safety concern is resolved and it looks like a face lift for our property as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wade and his crew.

Our 60 year old house's concrete was a mess with drainage from the sinking and broken sidewalks sloping to the window wells and our driveway was falling apart. Rick, project manager, and his team were amazing. They never stopped working for a moment despite the issues with much hand work and a double pour (surprise!) to contend with and remove. The project moved along without a pause - so well timed! And the results were grand. The team even dealt with our many rambunctious pets well and no paw prints! Wade was on site a few times to make sure things went smoothly and the site clean-up was much appreciated.

My driveway was in really bad shape, dropped 4-6”, and huge sections where it was eaten away down to gravel. Wade explained everything that needed to be done, gave me a great quote, and explained anything that might add extra costs. His crews were really good, polite, respectful of us and our neighbours, cleaned up after themselves. They did fantastic work, on time, and I’m completely satisfied!

We recently purchased a 40+ year old home in the west end, and while a lot of interior work had been done, the outside back 'patio' was a complete mess - it was an ugly cement pad made of that awful aggregate concrete crap that's so prevalent in a lot of Edmonton architecture from that era (late 70's). It was horrible to walk on, it was uneven, cracked, sinking, and pooling water. And it runs the entire back length of the house, so we knew we were in for a pretty major project if we were to go through with it.

We got a few quotes, but after seeing all the signs for Concrete Replacement Experts in our neighbourhood (along with lawn signs of people actually getting work done by them), I called them to get a quote. Wade (owner) was there almost immediately, did some measurements, and had a quote to me within 15 minutes.

The job was originally supposed to take around 3 days, but due to our miserable summer of 2019 Edmonton weather, with nearly 2 months of daily rain, it did end up delaying the process, ending up taking more like 3 weeks lol (TOTALLY not their fault whatsoever!!), but they never complained, they just did the work! When they started ripping out the old concrete and steps, they found pockets where the concrete was much thicker than it had originally appeared to be (along with some water damage along one section of the house, which they were also able to completely fix for us!!). This not only added to the length of time for the job to get completed, it also added a little bit of additional cost to the total project, which was not a huge surprise, but we were not told about this until presented with the final bill. For future reference, I would suggest they give a heads-up midway through the project if it looks like it's going to go over budget. Avoids nasty surprises 'after the fact'.

Once the work was completed, the patio and new steps surpassed even our most optimistic expectations. These guys did absolutely outstanding work, and I wouldn't even dream of going with anyone else if we ever need work like this done again. Nor would I ever hesitate to recommend them WHOLEHEARTEDLY to anyone looking to get concrete work done. These guys work HARD, and obviously take pride in their work. They even seeded our lawn after the fact, to restore the patch that was trampled by their (very) heavy equipment.

My only issues with them were relatively minor, but in the interest of a balanced review, I feel they should be mentioned:

1. The communication from Wade and Rick (the project manager) was phenomenal at the beginning of the process, and even until about the midway point, but at some point (I think because of all the delays, and all the other projects they had on the go), the communication just kind of...'stopped'. For the final week of the project, the only way we could get any sort of update was by us having to reach out via phone or text to ask 'is anyone coming to do some work today', 'how much is left to do' etc. We felt they should have kept that high level of communication going until the end, as that's the bar that had been set from the outset, AND it's one of the things that I think really sets them apart from a lot of their competitors.

2. One of their guys - without asking us - decided to use our hose and hose trolley, both of which were basically wrecked by the end of the project, as they were covered in cement. The hose I didn't care so much about, but the hose trolley was a gift, and those things aren't cheap, so when I pointed that out, while I did get an apology, there was no offer to reimburse us for the damages. Since we were getting such fantastic quality of work done at a fair price, I didn't push the issue, but I did find it odd that they wouldn't even offer to replace it.

Again, those are relatively minor issues - overall, we are over the moon happy with the quality of the work that was done, the friendliness and professionalism of Wade, Rick, and crew, and the overall experience as a whole.

I honestly don't think you could find a better company in Edmonton to do this sort of work. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Not only were they extremely professional, but they were very friendly, honest, personable and most importantly reasonably priced. Wade and Rick's went through the process step by step with us, explaining and educating us on what exactly they were doing and what we were spending our hard worked money on. Their team was extremely professional with great manners and most importantly kept the area tidy-They even back filled the grass areas AND built barriers to put along the driveway to prevent any traffic entering. Our driveway was sinking and the walkway was getting a bit dangerous as it sank lower too. Before anyone hurt them selves on the gaping chasm developing in our walkway, we started to look for someone who could fix the problem rather than simply putting a band-aid on it. We called several companies to get quotes, but because we didn't know anything about concrete it was difficult to evaluate what we were being offered. Concrete Replacement Experts were willing to spend the time with us to fully explain what it would take to replace the walkway and driveway to help us understand the scope of the project better. They were also the only company that followed up on the estimate afterward and spoke with us further. When the time finally came to get the work done, we were impressed with the dedication of the team that was sent to work on our property. They were all focused on doing their best work and were always pleasant and helpful, taking time to update us on their progress and their timeline. It was clear by watching them that they cared about the quality of their work. We were also very pleasantly surprised at the high level of customer service the guys on site provided. Everything has since been completed and all of our neighbors that saw the work-in-progress have commented on how good it looks. We clearly made the right choice with Concrete Replacement Experts and we have recommended their service to several people only days after it was done. We will tell anyone that asks that Concrete Replacement Experts are very good at what they do.

We had a very large driveway and patio that is 40 yrs old and was in bad need of replacement. It had been mudjacked twice and was starting crumble as well. We started to notice Concrete Replacements signage throughout the westend and also several of their jobs. After receiving a very high quote from 2 different contractors previously I was reluctant to do the job. My wife convinced me to call and get one more. Wade (the owner) returned my call immediately and within the hour was at my home measuring to give me a quote. Surprisingly, the quote was significantly less enough for me to agree to have the work done. Less than 2 weeks later they removed our old concrete and performed the base work for the job. Wade's crews were polite, efficient and left the site very clean. An unexpected bonus was they filled the space between the lawn and new concrete with dirt, peat and grass seed. We would highly recommend Wade and Concrete Replacement Experts.
