I was really impressed with the quality of work delivered by the 1 Stop Shop team. They met all deadlines and were very communicative about next steps, budget, etc. I appreciated their attention to detail, they were exceptionally skilled at dealing with issues that come with working on a hundred year old home. The team also provided excellent design advice, helping me to stay within my budget. The job consisted of a complete kitchen reno, bringing in made to order cabinetry, installing wall tile and a travertine floor, new lighting and venthood to create a kitchen across the back of the house. They also sanded the oak flooring in the living and dining areas and painted the main floor. The second floor bathroom was also completely redone, installing a ceramic shower stall, floor, window, door and cabinets plus painting. The basement was redone with a new kitchen, flooring, lighting and painting. The whole job was completed on time. I am very happy with the results.

Thank you for completing the project on time, but honestly my experience with Amir has been difficult. I believe that a professional company should be able to take the customer’s input into account when making decisions on THE CUSTOMER’S home renovation... and unfortunately that hasn’t been the case. Many decisions in regards to material and design/ease of use were assumed, and eventually became a problem after it was installed. Small finishing details I had to consistently go over myself and ask Amir to fix. Because this was a relatively small project, he felt that a breakdown of the costs (labour and material) didn’t need to be provided to me, so instead each item was given to me as an individual invoice to pay IN CASH. Even thinking about it now, I’m not sure what exactly I paid for.

I never thought hiring a project manager would end up putting so much management duties on myself due to the lack of detail.

My advice is: if you know what you want to do, go directly to the source, whether it’s a construction team, or cabinetry company... you will pay a lot less and get the same results, but probably more professional (as per my past experience).

We hired Amir for our Reno because he was by far the most communicative contractor/project manager we talked to, and provided by far the most detailed quote. The quote was broken down into great detail, making it easy to change the scope of work, and it gave us a good understanding of what the money was going to be spent on, instead of a lump sum.

Once work started, we found that Amir was in top of all his crews, constantly making sure things were done the right way. We ran into some serious structural issues that only came to light once construction started, and Amir handled the situation quickly and without overcharging us.

I highly recommend 1 Stop Shop Services for mid-sized home renovations.

Amir and his team had been tasked to complete Masonary work which included brick and stone work. The work was completed without a hitch and the he entire team worked through out the winter to complete the job in budget and on schedule.
