Blue Ocean Moving And Storage Services

My daughter needed a small move from remote teaching contract to back home. Because she was in a very remote area of Northern Ontario, I co-ordinated the move from Hamilton (complete with back up phone numbers and contact info). I was given a three day window for pick up but informed we would receive a 24hr notice. Most of her items were staged in a ThunderBay storage unit and my daughter was going to bring the remainder of her items a day before the scheduled pick up. I received the notice from the driver, a day early that they arrived to pick up the items and it would be about one hour before the van would reach the storage unit. Since my daughter was on route and the mover would not wait, she was forced to take the remaining items (a full car load) with her on the 17hr. drive home or have to wait a month for the next scheduled trip through her area. We tried to get invoice for the move so I could review the charges. Finally received an invoice on the Friday before her delivery to home address. This was emailed only after a call from the mover to provide payment prior to receiving her property. Mover would not make any accommodation for wrong pick up date or inconvenience. Wouldn't even allow me to speak to manager. Just holding our property as ransom. We agreed to pay when the truck arrived so we could confirm all items were on board. The delivery was scheduled to arrive at 9am, but didn't show up until 7:00pm because of problems with other delivery. Unloaded (dumped) the truck into spare bedroom.
We are trying to sort out the delivery but already finding items from someone else's move. DO NOT USE THIS MOVER.

I moved my family across from Ontario to Kelowna. Pickup was March 27th. We opted for 6 weeks free storage and our items were to be sent out on the 20th of may with delivery happening 7-10 business days after. Without any calls whatsoever to notify me, i finally got a hold of them on April 31st and they assured me my items will arrive from from May 5-10th. They arrived on the 10th with multiple items damaged and about 5000 worth of large items missing, i.e snowblower, half couch and ottoman, bbq etc. I have emailed and called. I was told by claims it may take up to 6 weeks and that I should refrain from calling and that they email only. It is now 1 day past 6 weeks. I cannot get through via phone. I have emailed them once again and can only hope my items will still be delivered. I discussed with Melissa ( she said she was the Sales Manager) and she assured me they will be in touch with me to resolve my claim and that all items always get delivered at maximum time of 6 weeks. No one should trust them to deliver all your things. I will be sharing my horrible experience to my 70000 plus followers online who would love to hear a review and my cross country moving experience.

I was quoted $1360 for a move from Ottawa to Nanaimo (small amount of things), I had a great experience on the Ottawa end with Select Movers, initial deposit of $200. When my items finally arrived in Nanaimo after I had paid the inflated invoice of $1743 in full by email transfer the men delivering extorted another $245 from me. They would not unload the truck until it was paid. Beware of this company, I was charged an additional $826 with a lot of damages to my property.

I do NOT recommend using this company.

Here is my list of problems:
- They promised pickup between 9 and 1, with a call an hour ahead. At 1230, because I'd had no calls, I started calling the person who had sold me the service. He was unreachable - and never ever did call me back. (I tried to call him twice more because of additional problems I encountered with his company. Each time, his voice mailbox was full.) Instead, I finally tracked down the dispatcher - who doesn't even work for the company - who was able to help me. Apparently their "truck broke down". That should have been my first clue to run far and fast away from this company. They finally arrived to pick things up at 5 p.m. (The fellows who did the pickup were nice enough and seemed to take care of things.)
- They promised deliver within 5 to 10 days, and things arrived - finally - 30 days later. No apology. No explanation. No discount. In fact, no communication.
- One box of stuff is missing.
- Almost every single thing they had in their care was damaged. Boxes marked fragile were completely crushed. Even metal furniture has big gouges out of it.
- One of the guys who made the delivery kept asking - at least a half-dozen times - for "coffee money". He was the one sitting in the cab while his young colleague was doing all the heavy lifting. This guy was also going to dump everything in the driveway and head off to his next destination. This is also the same person who left a set of bed rails which we repeatedly said weren't ours. (Maybe the rightful owner of the bed rails has my missing box?)
- Clearly they have had bad reports before. When they called me to tell me my stuff had finally arrived, they wanted payment up front before actually coming to the address. I said that they would get payment when they arrived at the address. The clerk had a ready-made solution: I transfer the money electronically and withhold the password until the driver arrives with the stuff. Wow.

I have rarely seen such shoddy service. I have another shipment that needs to come east. I will be following my own advice and using another company.

Horrible service! Very displeased especially since they did not deliver a newly coffee table of mine and charged me more thanews I was quoted and wouldn't do anything about it. They were a few weeks later and made marks in my rental place when taking the furniture. They were in a rush and plainly made me miserable and very unsatisfied. Never use them!!!

A certain Mark from Selective Movers was my contact when I looked up a moving company that will get my stuff from Calgary to Montreal. Movers arrived at past 10pm on April 1, 2017 which was supposedly done in the morning as requested. I was told delivery will be from 7-12 days. My stuffs arrived only on April 26, 2017 delivered by Blue Ocean Moving and Storage with a few missing boxes and 2 stuffs that were not mine. I have called to inform them of this but was told to just send an email. Until now, 10 days later, I have not received a reply yet. I just hope I get my stuffs back.

Absolutely terrible service in every aspect of the move. Not all the boxes arrived, damaged goods and rude staff. After realizing that all our possessions did not arrive we messaged them inquiring about what can be done to locate our missing items. It took 4 emails to get a response requesting more info. After giving them the most information possible on what was missing and damaged it's been 6 weeks, no response. No resolution or care whatsoever to resolve the missing and damaged items.

Pathetic customer service. I highly recommend you do not hire them to do anything for you.

Contacted Selective moves paid a deposit and booked a move about a month in advance - they picked up when they said they would from Calgary - and directed to their logistics location in Edmonton for cross docking I assume (not sure) .
Long story short - I wasn't given an exact date of delivery I was expecting give or take a few days. it is a long Haul and weather happens!
took 12 days - which I would have been ok with had we known that might be the case...but instead I read negative reviews and panicked-when is it going to come?, what condition will it be in? will 1/2 be missing or damaged?..so I panicked ..made several calls - and each and every call was answered or returned in a timely fashion .
None of our items were damaged - no boxes open, everything came as promised (better late than never) and the delivery guys on both ends were very good hardworking people and very professional.
would I use this service again, yes absolutely- it was well worth the price-it was a little stressful waiting on my stuff - had I known it could take 12 days I would have been a little more prepared with extra clothes-and accommodations.

Worst experience of my life. Was supposed to take 4-5 days. It took 16 days & 50% of my furniture was damaged. I put in a damage claim & was told they were doing nothing for me. We ended up loosing $3000 extra for hotels & accommodations until our belongings arrived. We were never given a clear answer & given false information.to repeatedly. At least 4 separate days I was told my stiff would be here tomorrow & it wasn't! Don't trust them! They just want your money! They don't have any concern or respect for customer service.
