Ed was right on time (a great start) and did a fantastic job installing the line in our house - while he was here he even helped to fix our squeeky furnace and also did some caulking for some work that other people did and never finished properly - highly recommend him -

I called Ed on Tuesday early afternoon and he booked me for 9PM that night.
Once he got to my place, it didn't take him long to get my Nest thermostat up-and-running.
Ed's a very nice guy and seemed to know his stuff; I would highly recommend him.

Long Story

I purchased a new Nest thermostat on Black Friday.
Before buying it, I used the Nest online tool which verifies if the Nest thermostat is compatible with your heating/cooling unit.

Well, the problem is that my old thermostat, while digital, used batteries to power the thermostat but the Nest expects to get enough power from the heater/cooler to power the Nest.

So whenever the fan and/or heater tried to turn on, it would turn off immediately.

I called the Nest support line and after troubleshooting it with them, they offered to pay to have a technician come out and correct the issue.
I called Ed and he got my new thermostat working nicely.

He basically had to run another common wire from the heater/cooler to the thermostat which now supplies power to power the Nest.

I have a NEST thermostat that needed to be installed, previous owner had a complex EIM system. Ed came by and helped me rewire my HVAC unit, removed the EIM, added my NEST in a jiffy. You can truly tell he knows his stuff when he dived in immediately to do the needful. He also helped me put in a hardwire NEST protect as requested, in addition looked at my gas fireplace. I will definitely be reaching out to Ed for future needs.

Ed was incredible! He was able to come install my Nest very quickly. He took his time taking me through how to work it and getting the app on my phone set up. He is a total gentleman. I highly recommend Ed for all your Nest and HVAC needs!

Needed my furnace wire replaced for my nest thermostat and connect my humidifier to it. They were great and very knowledgable. Did furnace maintenance at the same time. I was very happy with the level of service highly recommend these guys.

I attempted to install a Nest thermostat at my parents place. Having previously installed a Nest at my own home, it is a very easy process normally. This time, I could not get the thermostat installed as expected. The Nest Support team could not solve the problem online, so they sent me to their web page recommending GTA area Nest Pro installers. One hour after I had put in the request, Ed called me back. He tried to guide me through the setup by phone and by text msg. Unfortunately, everything we tried did not work, so he promptly came out to the house to take a look. He found that the thermostat wiring was unnecessarily complicated and cleaned it up. Once this was fixed, he quickly setup and installed the Nest thermostat for my parents and gave me a couple of tips that I was not aware of on the thermostat! I highly recommend Ed and Forge Mechanical!

I made the mistake of letting my electrician install my 2 Nest thermostats. I noticed something wasn't quite right, so I contacted Ed at Forge Mechanical, a certified Nest specialist. He was on site within a couple hours. Wow! I couldn't believe how fast he came.
He fixed the problem, and was in an out without any fuss. I was so pleased I asked him to come back and do my annual service on my furnaces. Looks like I found my HVAC specialist and I couldn't be more happier.

I had an A/C / Nest emergency in the middle of a heatwave (in the fall!). Not only did Ed answer his phone, he came straight to our issue in Toronto from St. Catharines only a couple of hours after our call. It was an easy seamless experience - he also texted me to give me an ETA closer to our appointment time. He arrived, was very knowledgeable, friendly, fast and efficient. In fact, he solved an issue that three other "experts" missed which is what caused our problem. I would not call or worth with anyone else - hands down. Thank you Ed for the amazing service and for finally solving our long standing issue.

d exceeded all of our expectations - he was friendly, punctual, and flexible to what we needed to get done. We called Ed to check on some damage that was recently done by a neighbor getting their roof upgraded. Ed not only determined that the damage was superficial, he was able to check on other non-HVAC related items while he was on the roof. Before he left, he checked the status of our A/C filter and gave us a small tutorial on how to maintain our external unit. Most of all, he provided some tips on how to save a bit of money in doing some of the basic and routine maintenance items on our A/C unit. We will definitely use Ed again, and most of all refer him to our friends and neighbors. Martin
