My wife and I hired The Master People after some flooding in our basement. Two guys came to dry out our basement carpet. We had previously lifted the carpet at the corner to let some of the water dry out. When the workers came, they lifted (removed) the rest of the carpet. While doing so, they damaged (tore) part of the carpet near a radiator. We only found out about this later, when we hired The Master People to replace the underpad and restretch our carpet. The Master People refused to take responsibility for this damage to our carpet, and instead blamed us.
When we hired The Master People to replace the underpad and restretch the carpet, two guys came to do the work (not the same as the guys who dried out the carpet). This work was only done after considerable delay and correspondence back and forth. It was difficult communicating with John and Alex who took a long time to respond. The lead guy in charge of the carpet work who came to our home was quite impolite and seemed unhappy to be doing his job. In addition to ripping the carpet near the radiator, he or his partner caused various other damage to our carpet. They left a major glue stain on a part of the carpet that was previously completely fine. They left some smaller glue stains on other parts of the carpet. They also damaged the seam of our carpet in another area. The restretching was poorly done. On one end of our basement, the carpet did not quite reach part of the wall (there was a small gap between the wall and the carpet).
After several weeks of trying to get the matter resolved, we were advised that it would not be feasible to fix our carpet and that we should just pay to have a whole new carpet installed. This would cost several thousand dollars. We were told that we would not receive any compensation.
Trying to work with The Master People was a major headache. The company supposedly specializes in restoration. The whole point of retaining their services was to mitigate damage. Instead they caused new damage to our property. Communication was slow and evasive. No compensation was received for the damage and inconvenience. My wife and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for any emergency or restoration services.
